IIRC, it was a .22 and they are very quiet guns. They're so low caliber that I don't think the bullet even breaks the speed of sound. JMO
It was not a .22, but a .25.

The DEFENSE has rested for their part of mitigation.
They'll probably roll them in for her allocution. "My dad's been too sick to come every day like my mom, but you don't want one of a dying man's last thoughts to be watching his daughter get sentenced to death do you?"
I now believe it was first too. I can understand why Dr. Horn believes it was last, but I think this is one of those weird instances where something unusual happened. Jodi used an old gun that was already a low caliber. It his brain but it grazed it. The disorientation and confusion placed Travis at a severe disadvantage while trying to defend himself from the knife attack. The gun probably jammed or the gun hurt her hand. And imo, it doesn't change the cruelty of it. It actually makes it worse. Travis may have been able to fight her off if he hadn't been shot first.
The gun was first. Jodi has been telling us all along.
Not necessarily imo. Wasn't the assumption based on those nude shots that they had had sex that day and then things "went wrong", the basis for arresting JA? Iirc they didn't have the dna/print evidence until after the arrest, though I could be wrong. As long as both the DT and the PT didn't dispute it, why upset things... it's just those of us who want ALL the questions answered that would like to know, especially since it would justify our belief that TA would not have fallen for one last tryst with her and go even further to illustrate the depths of JA's anger.
I'm thinking a botched (but eventually successful) execution would be just desserts for JA.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "grazed" the brain, but if I understand you correctly, that's not what happened.
The bullet went directly into his brain, from the front, and passed through his brain to the other side of his head. It had to have, to have ended up where it did.
I also can't see any logical reason to dispute Dr. Horn's opinion that it would have been almost immediately incapacitating, given that there's no reason to suppose that Travis was immune to the immediate and inevitable trauma of a bullet passing throughthe brain - notably, massive shock waves and cavitation, rapid and extensive blood loss and brain swelling.
Imo, the only reason Arias has been "telling us all along" that she shot first, is because she found it impossible to create a stabbed-first self-defense narrative.
IF it was a misfire and JA managed to clear it (LMAO) then where was the bad cartridge? To clear a misfire the cartridge needs to be ejected to continue to fire. Second shot into TA head and the casing is visible in a pool on blood and on TOP of the blood and didn't roll in there, IMO.
So ... to sum it up. Jodi managed to clear a misfire and picked up that misfired cartridge, but forgot to pick up the casing from the bullet in TA head???? Don't agree, but that's okay. I'm in the group that agrees that shot was last. JMO and I respect all the views. Peace
bbm-but if complete strangers want this so badly to be true imagine how the family feels. Would they not fight as hard as posters here have to find out the "truth"?
The gunshot first theory is one that I have flip-flopped on myself a lot during this trial.
For those who use the shell casing in the blood as indication it must have come last, there is another possibility I could see happening where the gunshot still could have been first.
If you look very closely at one of the tile shots where the casing is laying the blood. There is channels inbetween the tiles where the grout goes. Lets assume the shot came first and casing landed on that tile. I could see where later on, blood slowly dripped down those grout channels and slowly encompassed the bullet casing. Over time, the blood possibly flowed all around the casing making it look like the casing landed on top if it.
That is one possibility that still allows the shot to be first and explains that picture of the shell casing in the blood with no blood on top of it.
She isn't a little girl. Jodi is taller than Juan Martinez and Jennifer Wilmont. It shows her height is between 5'4 -5'6 and her weight around 125 lbs
When reading this motion that JA filed in October 2013 to remove kirk nurmi, she talks in it about Nurmi not being nice to her when she freaked out in response to her DT deciding to play the sex tape in open court. Remember back to the day they went into chambers and all of sudden court was cancelled? it wasn't a migraine, it was her flipping out about the upcoming sex tape. This motion she wrote is pretty informative about some things. If you have time, read it.
Jodi Arias letter.pdf (not sure if this is going to be a link...but I tried)http://www.businessinsider.com/jodi-arias-wants-to-fire-kirk-nurmi-2013-10
3. She takes every opportunity to rehash the pedophile/sex stuff and throw accusations of lying around (Flores, Deanna Reid). Can't let it go even when it has no need to be brought up."Mr. Nurmi, however, in his utter poverty of people skills, simply said to me with contempt, You're not going get your own way just because you throw a tantrum."
I'm almost positive that is a photoshopped pic. If you already know that - just ignore me. I'm a fool sometimes.
There is no such thing as "high magnum" gunpowder. A magnum is a term used to describe a cartridge that is larger (or longer) than it's predecessor. Example being...a .44 magnum casing is a longer version of a standard .44 standard caliber casing, thus containing more of the same powder used in the .44 standard. The magnum designation covers other calibers such as the .22 magnum, .357 magnum, etc. The same size of bullet is used in the standard and the magnum calibers. It is a fact that some semi automatic weapons are ammunition sensitive and will jam with certain powder charges that affect the gun's operation. A few of the .25 caliber and .22 caliber handguns are notorious for jamming more so than others and they are actually considered a bad choice for self defense because of this. I believe that the gun in question was a Berretta .25 caliber and Berretta is a very reputable manufacturer. But the nature of the .25 caliber cartridge can be a problem in almost any .25 caliber handgun. I owned a Browning (high quality) .25 years ago and it never once failed in use, it cost $100.00 dollars more than any other brand. I would not trust any other brand. It wasn't purchased for self defense though. I will never believe that there was a second shot attempt. He was already dead when she shot him, the body noises in it's death throws led her to believe that he wasn't dead so she finished it off. Her coup de grace. There could have been a shot both before and after the stabbings, but the gun jammed the first time.....
Lies, lies, ies.......JA's freak-out had to have been faked. She luuuuurved that the sex tape was played. She luuuuuuurved it over and over again. IIRC, she was in the middle of being crossed by JM at the time she went berserk: what's not to freak out about?

Regarding masturbation and Mormon doctrine....
IMO, interesting that women seem to be excluded from this capability, not to mention women watching adult porn. Now I see why JA keeps wanting "masturbation" and "Travis" linked. It's as offensive an event as sex with another person if you're not married, and would likely get you into big trouble with the Bishop. Of course, we don't know how often she was committing the "m" act, either.... Speculation?
BBM ~ True, but originally so did LE.
And the knife she brought was bigger than her gun! I think she took the gun along for her protection or to use it to make it look like two people committed the killing. Her plan all along was Jodi..in the shower...with the knife.
Travis was supposed to fall down and the blood flow down the drain like in the movies
