Riiiiight...he wants the CLONE! A compression is not a proper forensic clone! If his compression is different from the copies used by Melendez and Dworkin then that explains why he found things they missed! You need to follow what they followed. It'd explain why it may have had nothing to do with incompetence!

The prosecution and defense are entitled to ALL evidence, good bad and ugly. I think that he MUST turn over what he has. JMO
