What client would want to spend 3 million on a defense to get pre-meditation and DP????

They will be laughing stocks.

Keep in mind, Jodi didn't pay them $3 million, has she paid them anything??? Even when they lose, they still get publicity. Their careers aren't over.

I don't know that she was particularly positive or negative about him. I thought she felt his style could grate at times but his pace is also beneficial because it makes it easier for her to take notes and it gets information out quickly and efficiently. And yeah, she did make note that he treats all witnesses the same, whether his own or the defense.

On the flip, I don't think the liked Nurmi's slow paced style much. I didn't hear her say anything positive about it. She said while that is his style, the pace he moves at and the way he questions people makes it hard to stay focused. Basically, she got bored with him lol.

IMO.

I agree MeeBee!

I misunderstood what hope4more said yesterday.

But my understanding was 11 witnesses will be affidavits, just statements and the remaining three are the ones who refuse to testify that he's working on.

So statement of her supporters? They will read them out loud in court or is it something else?

But in juror 3's defense she wasn't privy to all that we were in the first proceedings. If Jodi does actually testify I have a feeling much of what juror 3 thought would COMPLETELY change. If she saw the sociopath in action it would be hard for her to keep her current thoughts. Jodi is her own worst enemy and I hope and pray she does get on the stand.
BBM. She may have since Jodi was the secret witness.

Twitter is definitely not the way to follow something technical like computer forensics. Right now, we only have tech talk from the defense expert, so there is a lot of info that still needs to be cleared up.

I don't get it with these defense "experts". Seems like most of them so far have been long on ego and short on knowledge in their field. For example, BN saying that the three phones were missing SIM cards. Travis used Verizon and at that time, all of their devices were CDMA, which means they never had SIM cards. Same thing for Arias' Helio phone. BN also linked the Zblog virus with a media player for 🤬🤬🤬🤬 sites, with the implication that was the only source of the virus. Another false statement was that Apple QuickTime and Itunes cannot update automatically.

BN, like Dr. Samuels, was not well prepared and could not answer technical questions. But he certainly made some strong claims and used emotional language in delivering his message. He is unequivocal that Travis purposefully visited 🤬🤬🤬🤬 sites. In both hearings, he has made statements by which he appears to be saying he can identify certain entries in the registry as automatic files vs. keystroke files. I have been researching this and cannot find the basis for him to be able to state this so clearly, unless TA's computer had a key stroke logger program installed on it. Last week, BN testified that Travis had 19 AV/scrubber programs on his computer and yesterday that number went up to 22, without any explanation for the difference.

I'm also confused by BN saying that he has not touched Travis' hard drive. Surely he is not playing games up there trying to say that he personally did not touch the drive when his agents may have? Willmott wrote the 11/20/14 Defendant's Response to State Motion...and included a picture of the hard drive after pins had been straightened so that the expert could access the drive.

Mr. Expert called previous experts grossly incompetent for not having found 🤬🤬🤬🤬. It had been previously suggested that the first defense expert, Dworkin, did not find anything because he had been given a tampered copy of the drive. Yesterday it was learned that on 6/3/2008 a newer version of SpyBot was installed and then run on 6/4/08 at a corrected time of 2:44 pm. It may be that because SpyBot was run on 6/4/08, it did quarantine any active virus exe program on the computer, thus leading to Melendez answer on the stand. It may also be that the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 files were encrypted and coded, and as such, did not qualify as 🤬🤬🤬🤬 by forensic examination standards. BN had to do a lot of work to recover these files, and the type of work may not be accepted practice. We have to wait and see.

To me, this is quite simple. There are three distinct dates in question with this computer. By using the same software, a qualified examiner should be able to work from copy A to copy B and finally to copy C, producing the same results. For some reason, the defense expert is balking at providing the State with the unaltered copy, which presumably should be B.

This is such a great post.

BBM I just started reading Computer Forensics InfoSec Pro Guide (which is, so far, an easy read & now I know for sure I never want that job.) Lo and behold in chapter 4 there is an example where an employee is being investigated because he has inappropriate images on his work computer. The chapter is about forming and testing a hypothesis, so this example doesn't go deep into the technicalities and the example employee only uses Internet Explorer. Evidently IE keeps a file called "index.dat" that keeps a log that has a "Typed URLs" section.

Of course, I don't know if IE was the only browser on TA's computer or if comparing the entries in this file to the rest of the info in the registry is how BN can be so sure.

Google turned up plenty of results for me. I did not read each of them, but I can see that making the distinction among pop-ups, redirects, spam, searches and typed URLs is something computer forensics analysts are often asked to do.

$3 million just to buy time!

I've often wondered how Jose Baez fared. He had even better results - he got his liar off of everything except lying. Was it a 15 minutes of fame, or is he viewed in Florida as a hot-shot lawyer, with a huge practice?

Resumes the 10th.

This trial is dragging on with DT's continued attempts to have the murderess somehow declared not guilty after all and JSS caving to every request.
The stress on the jury and Travis's family must be staggering.

I did find something after my original post that does say hand-typed URLs are stored separately in the registry. "For the Windows Internet Explorer, review Typed URL records in the NTUSER.DAT\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs Windows Registry key. The keyboard was the source of the entries. For other browsers, such as Firefox and Safari, perform necessary forensic review."

I don't know if any virus at the time had the ability to create false entries in this sector of the registry. As far as I'm concerned, BN needs to show, not say, but show the proof of this. I'm seeing a lot of innuendo here, but very little proof.

He was hired in a high-profile case in Aruba where the guy (an American) murdered his wife. Can't remember the names- Gary something.

What happens with affidavits? Are they read in court ? Just passed to jury? Are they to be given same weight as witness testimony?

The jurors remark that Jodi seemed almost normal made me think about something.

You know what's mindblowing? If you supposedly snapped and killed a man you loved, would you be able to leave such a calm message on his voicemail? And after his alleged abuse and perversions were made public, and you were a damaged woman with low self esteem would you be able to stand up for yourself against a bulldog like Juan Martinez? IF I had killed someone by mistake and I felt remorseful about it, I'd be sobbing so hard on the stand that no one would be able to understand what I was saying.

Like detective Flores said "Jodi just isn't acting right".

I remember her response to him when he said that. Paraphrasing here; what, why are you saying I am not acting right? What is it? Is it because I am not crying?
He leaves and when he came back she started with the crocodile tears.
Mirror, mirror on the wall! When she could not figure out how to act innocent, she straight out asked him!

There is a wonderful documentary, The Salt of the Earth, about social photographer Sebastio Selgado. It is a beautiful story. Anyway, one very poignant anecdote of his was that you can have 14 photographers in the same location and each one will take a different picture. Not one will be exactly the same. I think this is true with perception- no one will see or feel the entirely same thing.

I watched a new episode of Forensic Files last night that had some interesting parallels to this case. 1) The defendant was a hot shot lawyer who shot his wife immediately after having sex with her, then tried to claim she accidentally shot herself. 2) Also, they did forensics on his computer and showed how they took out his hard drive and plugged it in with the pins using a cable into the experts' computer.
He was having an affair with a judge and was stringing along both women, but when his wife announced she was pregnant again, he decided to kill her.

JODI ARIAS: ‘They’ll OVERTURN My murder Conviction!’

Published on: December 4, 2014
by Jon Leiberman NATIONAL ENQUIRER
Convicted killer Jodi Arias believes she will have her murder conviction overturned, The National ENQUIRER has learned.<snip>
Her mind-set is there’s no way she is getting death, but it’s more than that,” a close source that spoke with Arias divulged. “She is focused on her appeal because she thinks she’ll win it. She truly thinks she will walk free one day.“This is the most upbeat (Arias) has been in months. She’s ready for this to be over so she can hammer away on the appeal,” the insider added. “She’s talking about writing a book when she’s a free woman!” more at link: ww.nationalenquirer.com/true-crime/jodi-arias-theyll-overturn-my-murder-conviction

Agreed! Even if he does just say it, I'd like to read whatever he's saying. And I hope that on the day that the State's computer expert is there that the Twitter news & trial reporters all send their IT folks to court instead. Maybe the reporters can enjoy hamburgers and discuss attorney's fashion choices.

They will be laughing stocks.

And that is what I am hoping for and what they deserve. IMO they already are laughing stocks. Did you read that Nurmi? Wilmott? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA yep that's right, I have never seen more terrible lawyers in my life. But I have also never seen a more terrible judge and she too is not going to be viewed favorably in the future IMO.

Skipping ahead so forgive . . . . not sure if anyone noticed.

1) Look @ the pic of the pins (post #63 on this thread)
2) Look @ timeline of events on link

http://jodiariastrialtruth.blogspot.com/

See where the pin picture says they realigned the pins on 8/25/14
Now look @ the timeline of events on 8/26/14 - 70,000 items deleted

Proof?

Well Baez and the others all thought they would be rich rich rich, getting Casey Anthony off but that didn't happen and at least to me, they also are laughing stocks. As long as there are sex offenders Nurmi will have a job but I am just hoping he and Wilmott will not have good careers. Look at the lawyers in the OJ case. Some died early deaths.

Yup, in the cases of Kardashian and Johnny Cochran, I think it was the stress of knowing the truth- they knew they got a Guilty man off.
