According to one of the minute entries, JSS set aside 16 court days just for jury selection, since AZ only works 4 days a week - unless they do Fridays for this, that's 4 weeks. Lordy.

They do work Fridays and other hours on the other 4 days, but those days/hours are reserved for hearings on cases not in trial and for hearings during trial that have to take place outside the presence of the jury.

Remember the Friday hearings on this case in the last couple of months?

Jury selection is deadly dull, not the stuff most people want to sit around and watch.

It's vitally important, of course, but I wouldn't want to have to sit in the courtroom for it.

After she saw & heard the pool of jurors, and how many could not be impartial, she felt like a freak. A curiosity with a circle of fingers pointed at her. She had expected to be viewed as an unknown quantity with volumes of information to fill in for these strangers. No such luck, Killer.

I love how you put things! I was able to envision her face deflating as a circle of villagers stared her down. That's how I want to see it anyway!
