The TV is on in the media room and we are looking at JodiArias and Nurmi at the table. First jury coming in.

If Arias had left Travis where he was, he would have been right by the bedroom door, with is roomates' bedroom doors not too far away, making it far more likely that someone would notice a smell of decomposition. The time it took to move him was worth it, to avoid that. (I've also often wondered if there was an extractor fan in the bathroom, turned on.)


Also, it wouldn't have taken much time at all, or required much strength. The total distance was about 14', covered with tile and slippery blood, and of course Travis' body was slippery too, being naked and also covered with blood. To make it easier yet, he was already lying along more than a third of that distance, so she only had to pull him about one-and-a-half times his body length.

Then, for cleaning herself, there was the bathtub right next to the shower. I don't recall any mention of it at trial, but it's certainly the cleanest object in the bathroom. However, I do recall evidence that she'd tried to clean Travis in some way - quite possibly she showered standing over him, or before putting him in the shower.

Travis had CMJA's DNA all over him by the time he got to the entrance of the bedroom, and surely as his body decomposed, the seepage would have gone through the carpet and subflooring, maybe to the point of being obvious from the ceiling downstairs, to say nothing of the smell.

Travis ruined her plans by struggling out of the shower and trying to get to safety. I doubt she had a "Plan B' for that scenario. You know that had to piss her off. She ended any attempt he had of saving himself by slitting his throat.

But what a mess.

Like everything else in her life, she couldn't kill Travis without screwing it up. Having so much experience as a "professional waitress", you would have thought she'd know more about cleaning things up.

I think the thinking is that it could prejudice the jury in some way. Not saying I agree but...i suspect that is why

no secret that she has been convicted,why else would they be being selected for a jury for the penalty phase. i dont get it :laugh:
