I really do not know why Saint Mary's would be upset from a donation from an inmate since inmates work there. I am not pro Jodi, but I think they would be glad for the donation. I know it was a farce on the killer's part but the money can feed a lot of people that need their assistance.

For those of us who don't do tweets...what the heck does DMing even mean? Can everyone please speak English here?

DM = Direct Message
PM = Private Message

The two are not mutually exclusive.

Understand that by definition nothing on the Internet (or in a transmitted electronic message of any type) is ever truly private and there should be no realistic expectation of same.

I don't know who she is and go out of my way to avoid her except this time it was unavoidable. She's a very strange woman and she is EVERYWHERE. Anytime I'm reading a article on Jodi, there she is, spewing her hate and nonsense. She's obsessed. And, apparently, Jodi doesn't want anything to do with her, though that's only from the back of my head. I can't remember exactly what was said or what happened.

Thanks MeeBee!

Regarding CMJA's motion...

She should have found a way to thank JSKS for allowing the DT to portray her defenseless murder victim as a pedophile.

Jurors hate pedophiles.

The food bank needs to keep the donation. What good things they can do with that money far outweigh any benefit the killer might get out of it. Seriously, her donations are too late in the game to be of any benefit to her. IMO.

I agree with everything you have said about Judge Stephens, Becky. The frustrations about the delays and length of time this has taken are totally understandable. I feel the same way. Yet my respect for Judge Stephens is high. The system is being played to the limit but the judge didn't create the framework of the law. She seems to be an outstanding example of a modern day judge. Scrupulously fair, showing no bias and treating everyone with courtesy and respect. She is an example of American justice for the world to admire.

I wonder who the new witnesses are for the state? Wonder if any of her twitter friends are among them? Funny how she does not like to be criticized for the minor stuff. Like her sending the letter to Prepaid Legal about not talking bad about her in the breakout meetings because she was arrested. LOL

Not only would we all like to know who the witnesses are but we want to watch their testimonies live. This may be very good.

LinTX, your point is well taken. The killer did threaten to dump sewage if she wasn't granted her deal. Not just any deal but the one she proposed. We learned about it and read every word of her brass offer. Martinez alluded to it in court, more than once but without details as to what she was all too ready to divulge. Beggars understanding that long afterward, she was so humiliated & shamed when the sordid material was presented in open court. I do think she was mortified for once, not performing. I think it would be good to revisit her bargaining in this trial to sentence her. It's pretty damning.
As well as revealing her attempt to coerce/blackmail a plea deal, Juan should counter the newly-emerged "feels remorse" mitigation with the fact that she never said sorry last time around. Of course, last time around she had no idea she'd be that close to receiving the death penalty. Now that that reality has sunk in, she's remorseful? Like the charitable donations, the timing strips it of any credibility.

Someone (apologies, I can't recall who, perhaps AZLawyer?) posted an excellent and lengthy list of Judge Stephens rulings, extracted from the Minutes, revealing not only a heap of work that rarely sees the light of day, but the many occasions on which she has ruled confidently and decisively against Motions by the defense.

Wow....does husband live with you part time? He never sees the poop or smells the poop. EVER.

He lives with me ALL the time and I believe he chooses to ignore the poop. We have two little dogs. Their poops are like Tootsie Rolls so it's almost believable when he "doesn't see it".

^^^ All very good and valid points LinTX, thanks for the reminder of her blackmailing (attempt) of his family.

She is one sly and cunning psychopath- I'll give her that. Unfortunately its going to get her a fast pass to hell. I think she finally realizes this.

Her pre-trial threats reminded me of a child saying "If you make me do this, I guarantee you will not like the results." Based on what we've learned about Jodi, I think this is just her standard operating procedure. Her knee-jerk response to any offense, real or imagined, has (I suspect) always been "Retaliate and Escalate."

Her road to hell is paved with the heartbreak and devastation of her victims -- making it a scenic trip for Jodi no matter where it ultimately takes her.

This should have been filed instead of that 60 page motion !

Indeed. But where's the fun in submitting a one-page standardized form when you can submit a 60-page legal document instead? This is a much bigger pain in the :behind: for all concerned. That's always been the DT's game plan, hasn't it?

If these tweets are from a fake account it just shows the lengths to which Jodi will go even being locked away in solitary. What damage could she do if she were in general population? That would be my concern.

Lots. But if she's in general population, lots of damage could be done to her as well.

Just remember, she doesn't say for what "conduct" she feels this remorse. Could be just about anything - there's a very long list. She has, even in interviews where they directly confronted her about this, she phrased her answer very carefully. I don't think she'll ever say she's sorry for killing TA, because she's not and will not give anyone that satisfaction.

snip:
PTSD was not proven but if proof exists it would no doubt be allowed into the record.
You mean the court didn't accept Samuels' PTSD diagnosis? Even after all those days he spent with Jodi?

I just watched an interview with a dismissed 'juror'. I do not understand why some of them are not being rehabilitated. This juror said that she had watched the trial daily and looked at all the evidence including all the photos. So what? The evidence that will be presented in court will include the crime scene photos and most of the things JA has done subsequently. There is very little evidence pertaining to this phase that will be kept from jurors (The gun/knife she had post-murder, the pedo letters she faked etc.) She deserves the death penalty because she butchered Travis Alexander and then trashed/continues to trash his reputation by making up horrendous lies. These points will be addressed in court. I don't understand why these potential jurors aren't be told exactly what is required of them...to basically follow the law. Most of them can do that.

I remember Samuels emphatically stating: " I beg your pardon sir" after Juan questioned him regarding his "feelings" for the defendant. Samuels face got a bit red and his eyes widened.

Yep. That was a stand-out moment for me. I hope Samuels learns that you don't get to be indignant in response to a valid point based on your actual behavior. Martinez didn't just pull that accusation out of a hat. Sorry to mix my metaphors, but Samuels handed it to him on a silver platter. Martinez may have added a sprig or two of parsley, but it was Samuels' own incompetence that, well, cooked his goose.

Samuels is a fool and Martinez does not suffer fools PERIOD.
