Howdy all!! I'm here!! Wow so much has changed in a year. During the last trial my husband and I were going through infertility struggles. Today I'm happy to report I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in July. Strangely my due date was Travis' birthday. She ended up arriving 4 days early.
In any event I hope to stay updated during the new trial. Well as much as one can with a newborn. Glad that we are on the home stretch to seeing the end of Jodi one way or the other.
Also I didn't see one but can we have a thread discussing the makeup of the new jury??

Truth hurts. Hopefully, it hurts her. This jury needs to see the real JA. JMO

Because he needs the jury to know that Travis didn't abuse her and there was NO sexual abuse. She was a very willing participant. Not naive as Nurmi wants to make her out to be. SHE was the aggressor, the one with the sexual experience. It's tough to listen to, but they have to hear it. She is far from "innocent" in every way. JMO

If this is a young jury, I don't think they'll have a tough time listening to this.

In fact, through the lens of a younger crowd, shaved pubic hair, explosions on faces (male or female), anal sex (again...male or female) are not as provoking as decades ago (even though their incidence among couples probably has not changed all that much...).
The point would be that a younger crowd would see **less** reason to murder someone for those events.
I think this is JM's strategy.

Soooo if found guilty of murder but not sentenced JA is mentally ill, how can she be facing a possible death sentence. I always thought this could not be done to the mentally ill????

Her original defense was not that she was mentally ill. The defense chose to not go that route. They chose to try to defend her by alleging that Travis attacked her by body slamming her and other abuse and she had to protect herself (lies of course).

So I think they are just trying to claim mental issues now to save her from DP.

Nope. Not at all. And that is a good thing....I don't think this jury will get hung up on the BS fog that the defense wants to spin with the sexual stuff.
