Holy moly-- I just cannot understand what the DT is trying to prove here.

The whole point - assuming this argument would be anywhere near reality - is that Travis would assume and act as if she was worth nothing. To an abusive and controlling man, 'his' woman should count herself lucky to take care of him.

Okay, legit question for BritsKate, or any of our other posters who have been in real abusive situations: Have you ever used sex to "settle" your man down, and does it really work???
