Did Travis really only see her as a star?

No I really don't think so. I think that he really cared for her, they started out as friends, then dated. They had conversations, but I see her, as wanting to be the very center of everything and She Couldn't or Wouldn't become the successful woman that Travis wanted. He wanted someone that was his equal but also his soulmate. He wanted someone who could be strong and at the same time be so very intimate.
He wanted someone who could be the Godsend for the mother of his children.
First mistake, ever having sex with her. To her they were now a couple.
CMJA could never acquire these attributes. She see's him slipping away. She couldn't rise to the occasion. She snapped. She couldn't be trusted. She doesn't know the word trust.
She wouldn't let him have his private time, being tooo damn clingy will drive a man away.
Then she did the unthinkable.....one thing that was the final straw.....
He couldn't ever let her be part of his life again.

I once got rid of a stalker in college by being a total hateful b**** to him. It was the only thing I could think of to make him stop "loving" me. In retrospect, I'm glad he reacted by going away instead of by killing me.

I've sometimes wondered if the exact reverse would also work. Like become the nagging psuedo-psycho-spouse, making demand after demand on the stalker as if he were a real conender. "Where is this relationship goinggggggg? I want a big diamond ring!" "How much money are you going to pay for the wedding? I wannnnnt a big wedding!!!" You know the kind of behavior I'm talking about. Scare the stalker that way?
