Honest question-- what in the world are we trying to prove in this retrial?
I thought this was sentencing-- and she pleads for her life. What's all this malarkey for??

Instead of only sticking to why the murderess' life should be spared based on her potential future good deeds or positive impact behind bars, or the other things normal attorneys do, this defense team is still trying to make the case for why Travis needed to be/had to be/should have been killed. They are trying to get the jury to hate the victim and think he might have deserved what he got.

I hope the jury sees through this. It doesn't require them to like the victim. They simply need to determine mitigating and aggravating factors and determine the proper sentence for the murderess. But nothing about this case or how it's tried is simple or straightforward.

Wonder if she, the doc, will be done at some point today and is awaiting Juan attack which is why she keeps reminding the jury, "just my opinion",
"am not here to treat or diagnose" , I think she is practicing her defense lines for when Juan wraps her words around her throat and she gasps for air.

Yes, being a jerk. What he wrote, while certainly reflective of his feelings, was not something anyone would consider nice or even civil. Travis made choices too, along the way. There were times he was a jerk and to pretend he was only a saint doesn't help the case.

The point is, his behavior at those specific times was not an excuse or a mitigating factor in his being murdered. It means I recognize that while he could be mean at times, he did not deserve to be killed, the killer had no right to do what she did, and she made choices along the way.

Not to mention, being a JERK was the only way to get her attention. It was his way of stopping her in her tracks for just a second, and letting her know he was not a happy fellow.... It was the way she wanted him to communicate to her. IMO
