I am so happy the appeal court will hear the case today. I hope the law is crystal clear and they make a swift decision. I would suspect they perhaps were presented with all the evidence this morning at can go in at 11:00 and cut to the chase.

Is it too late for the family to request that the DP option be dropped? It seems to me, IF the reports are true that they want this over, now.....that would be the quickest solution. Could JSS then give her pet LWP? No jury needed, right?

When they said they are standing out in the hall waiting, that is what they mean.
Every time I have had jury duty they call you from the jury pool area to the courtroom.
And every time I have been called there are NO seats out in those halls that I have ever found. I mean NO place to sit except the floor. So give these people some credit for doing this.

I always dressed for jury duty. I no longer do so because you are sitting on the floor after you have waited to be called into the courtroom. You can only stand so long.

If she gets death it certainly wont be anti-climatic for me or for the Alexander family who has waited for 6 long years.

From what I have read if she gets death the State of Arizona pays for the first appeal........then she is on her own.

Maybe AZL can clear that up.

Just guessing but with anti-DP sentiment there may be groups with private funding that will take her case pro-bono, so she won't need her own money. Again, just a guess.

I could be off, but my feeling is appeals court will side with Jdge Stephens and much of #JodiArias def case will b sealed. Hope I'm wrong.

Thank you-so there were actually 4 who had a problem executing her...I will bet that this one goes in a similar way, and I think the defense will look at LWOP as a victory!

Of course they will take credit but imo, her DT will have nothing to do with it.

Just like they would already know their client would have received death the last go round if she was a he.

The DT has everything stacked in their favor.

See justice still isn't really blind after all,,, as it should be... where everyone no matter the gender of the victim or when the defendant is treated equally when they commit same like crimes. And Arias' crime is far worse than many death penalty cases where the defendant was a male.

Can you just share your wisdom on how to do that? Would be quicker than what u just typed.

It is anti-climactic because whether she gets the DP or not, the outcome is the same:

- going to the same prison
- living in the same size cell
- will spend the rest of her life there, and it will be without any chance of parole

The only difference will be if her appeals are paid for by the state or not. If she gets the DP it will be paid for by the state. If not, she'll have to fund those herself.

Either way here's the actual outcome: she will spend the rest of her life at Perryville and will not be executed, even if she is given a DP sentence.

And here's another statistic: if she's given a DP, then she'll actually be safer in prison because she'll be housed in a different unit. If she gets LWOP she'll be subject to whatever violence may come her way being a part of the prison population, notorious, and a lifer.

Either way, not a sentence anyone would relish.
