They were also very commitedly married at the time so looking at Travis through that lens. I'm not making excuses, I'm just saying how I would argue this to a jury of Mormons/non Mormons. To the non Mormons Iwould think Travis as a young handsome single man looked pretty normal.

l agree they were his friends. But they overstepped in sending these emails and now a sociopath/psychopath killer is using them against Travis. Hope everyone learns from this.

I think the young women on the jury are thinking, "Plenty of men have treated me worse than this (#2 on his MySpace lol) and I didn't kill any of them."

One dumped me and dated my so-called best friend. I wish his penis would shrink but murder never entered my mind lol. I do worry that the defense will go: "Well yes, YOU jurors would react differently. But this young lady was an innocent flower. And oh yeah, she was mentally ill. She couldn't react rationally.". And the jury might start thinking "Oh even his friends thought he was abusive towards her, maybe he did break her down mentally."

There are so many millions of things everyone wishes they'd done differently who was near/involved a murder involving someone you love and you couldn't stop it or feel you enhanced it in any way. Trust me survivor guilt is real and I get it...hindsight is 20/20.

I don't think the Hughes realized that JA was just using them to guilt Travis into committing to her, they didn't start figuring her out until they found her outside the door listening in on their conversation.

I would really really really really love to see a juror question come in at some point "why wasn't an insanity defense used for this convicted killer?" Preferably to Dr. DeMarte.

I just hope Juan can come back next week and make the jury see that no matter what his "friends" emails stated, Travis was normal and didn't deserve to be brutally slaughtered. Nurmi hasn't changed my mind one iota. But I don't like the nosiness of the Hughes.

You're right. This whole tale of heretofore undiscovered and foolish police misdeeds reeks of a typical JA yarn. It's just like her to overestimate how stupid LE are and underestimate how easy it will be to prove that she's lying. "I was never there," Ninjas, pedo letters, secret code jail communications, gas cans... I'm beginning to calm down now, looking at it that way.

Completely agree, daisy! But what does that say about Nurmi? He's gotta know how LE handle computers and other devices during investigations, yes? So, his motion lacks credibility and is totally disingenuous.

I agree. Through their eyes, for some reason, dating around and not committing young to women and deciding not to settle is wrong. There is nothing wrong or abusive with not wanting to marry every girl you have feelings for and who wants to marry you. Travis was waiting for the right girl. And? That's just how they viewed the world and they thought they were being good friends. I don't judge them. They had also been duped by Jodi.
