This is going to backfire on them. You can already see it based off the tweets describing the jurors reactions to this crap. Get this witness off the stand Nurmi and move on.

And that may be why Juan is rarely objecting. If he thinks the DT is digging themselves a hole, why should he interrupt?

Does anyone else find it well...bizarre that the Defense has spent an entire day now mitigating in their 'fight for this mentally ill young girl's life' by reading a chain of emails written before TA & JA were even 'officially dating' and that are between three people - none of whom are on trial, and one of whom was brutally murdered? And where none of the emails where written to or from JA? Or Deanna, for that matter?
So, if Travis was a flirt, based on what the Hughes said in some emails (and it sounds as if they are only excerpts), does that somehow make the fact that JA viciously slaughtered him in his own home somehow 'okay? Maybe because she's a convert? I could see mentioning the emails as a point of reference (however out of context), but seriously, a whole day based on them?

I so hope the Hughes testify. Maybe that is just what Nurmi wants - otherwise, this whole day of 'expert testimony' makes no sense, unless they really have nothing else to mitigate with. They would have been better off sticking to her age - this is just ridiculous.
I would love to see (or read tweets, lol) if the Hughes do testify - they would be a welcome voice, and likely be strong witnesses - especially since this phase seems to be largely based on their words. Bring them on.

Jury needs to hear what JA did when TA attempted to "emotionally invest himself" in a relationship with Lisa. Following them and calling them when they arrived home ... slashing both their cars' tires ... peeping in at them making out ... walking into Lisa's house unannounced with them there ... Was it TA and Lisa that JA sneaked into TA's house and observed asleep on the love sack? Very abusive behavior, intended to sabotage the relationship, which it finally did.
