Are you saying that Desiree was only 12 when the four went on that trip? If that is true, than she would only be in her late teens now.

I'm sorry....I must have really screwed up on that! I know she was very young in 2006 and 2007. I remember people commenting about how young she was. Maybe she was more like 15 or 16? I do know she was a lot younger than the others, who were in their late twenty's.
I could have sworn during trial they said she was 12....Apparently I was wrong. I apologize :blushing:

I really hope Nurmi alienates the jury by this droning on and on and on. I am anxious for Juan to be able to set the record straight. I hope she gets the DP, I really do. Just for the simple fact of her losing AND for the brutal murder of Travis. I don't see how anyone can look at those pics of him and think she deserves anything less. BTW long time lurker, finally joined. I started here with Casey Anthony (barf) and Haleigh Cummings (sad still no outcome) and others like Kyron Hormon. I live in Mesa AZ and am absolutely appalled at the length of rope the defense is given and the tight leash of the state by the judge. I'm voting her out when her time is up. She needs to retire and write a book because this case has done her in JMHO.

I'm glad you posted!! Out of curiosity, is this retrial a big deal in Mesa, or has everyone pretty much moved on?

I'm confused... didn't she move to AZ AFTER they broke up? and she was in Cali the whole time before?

She lived in Mesa at one point, stalking Travis even after he told her to go back to CA. She eventually went back to Yreka, CA. She drove fom there to Mesa to torture and kill him.

I think it is essential that JM really, really walks the jury through the timeline of the relationship. An outsider peeking into defense testimony would come away with the impression that JA & TA had a ten year live-in relationship where he controlled her and she fell "victim" to his evil ways. Even though the jury knows better, the way in which the defense crawls along and makes such a big deal out of every single word TA ever uttered can imprint in a jurors mind and get them feeling as if the relationship was longer than it actually was. I mean geez, the time that they were "officially a couple" was only a handful of months. Look at all the photo's that SHE took with his friends so clearly he wasn't shunning her, he just wasn't telling the full extent of the physical relationship.

So anyway, I think Juan really needs to work to overcome the subliminal idea that the relationship was longer and more formal that it ever was.

I honestly don't think this will happen before Monday next week! Strategic thinking of DT - they are trying to buy time, time, time and time…

I believe KN and JW want this to go over the Christmas Holiday and break so that the jury forgets most of the stuff....they feel it would be better for FJA (felon Jodi arias). Hopefully the judge will not let this happen. JMOO

Hi. I registered about 2 weeks ago when the Ferguson/Brown thread went to the Parking Lot. I've been reading here since Casey Anthony, and I have to say, every time I come back, it's like seeing old friends again. This is one of my favorite places to be - good mods, intelligent and funny discussions. And the news is unbiased - I don't even pay attention to MSM anymore - I come here to get the real feel of the cases.

As for Jodi Arias, I agree, she is a terror, scarier than a character in the movies. The past few days have been so boring - I'm ready to see Juan again! (I have a little crush on him too.) :blushing:

If I were on that jury I'd be wondering what could possibly be important enough about the Freeman's testimony that I had to sit through that awake & stone cold sober. So they argued, he flirted, he was dating other people and not particularly friendly with JA when in a group. So? Then I'd remember this was a capital case sentencing trial, and wonder when the really awful stuff would surface about TA - the horrific stuff he did to her that could in any one's mind mitigate her killing this guy. Then just about when I thought I'd get to go home for the day, I'd remember that now I had to hear that lady's opinion of what all that boring stuff meant <sigh>. Finally I'd wonder what disease Nurmi had recovered from that had impacted his speech patterns so badly.

I'm still trying to work out how to archive Twitter reports in such a way that we can read through them again easily when (if?) the trial videos are released. Today is a good day to do it. Testimony seems kinda dull and frustratingly unfavorable. I disliked the Freemans the first time.
