Reuben's nickname is Ben. He may use the name Ben Jarvis and/or Reuben Kinkaid Blue. He has scars on his left cheek and chin. His nose and several other body parts are pierced. He has a tattoo of the Joker with fangs from the Batman comic series on his upper left arm.
Reuben was a known drug dealer in the south Everett, Washington area. He was last seen about 8:00 pm on February 22, 1991 as he was about to make a drug transaction in Everett. He received a page at that time. A friend drove him to Mallard Cove Apartments. Reuben went into complex C. After 40 minutes, he didn't return so the friend left. He notified Ben's family later that night when Ben didn't turn up anywhere.
