Updated: 7:26 a.m. PT Aug 20, 2006
NYERI, Kenya - Kenyan villagers tasted sweet revenge on Sunday, feasting on a marauding elephant that slipped into a septic tank as it tried to eat bananas from a local farm.
Farmers killed and carved up the animal with machetes as dancing residents from nearby villages at the foot of Mount Kenya joined in celebration, which started late on Saturday.
Elephants can wipe out entire annual harvests and sometimes kill farmers.
