Will they do isotopes? One hopes.

Not that it's likely, but having known friends of my deaceased Mom who gave their remains over for medical research, I would assume, within HIPPA guidelines, that there's no way to ascertain who was used for research post-mortem? But they'd be in a body farm, one would suppose? Not in one of my closets?

Nothing profile compatible on Namus with word nutritional stress; this is hard to resolve.

  • #4
I recall one where they suspected starvation.

Not sure. Sometimes I get confused between things I saw here and doe. I do recall a woman found that they think may have starved and may have been special needs.

What case?

But she was starved when she was a toddler, we don't know if she starved to death.

We can't be certain that she was starved as a toddler.

Nutritional stress is defined as "the stress of inadequate nutrition of total nutrients" in http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/nutritional+stress.

It could mean other things, such as a diet lacking in specific minerals, or being weaned onto a vegan diet. It might mean that her parents were not capable of looking after her properly, for example if they both had learning disabilities or problems with drink or drugs or had really cranky ideas about nutrition or diet, or the family had simply gone through a period of extreme poverty. It might also mean a young single mother without adequate support weaning her kid without anyone to teach her how to feed her properly.

What's interesting is that sometime around the age of 4 her situation seems to have changed. Perhaps she was taken into care or her parents split up, for instance.

Looking further than RI and CT (border is very close to Barrington), MA is also not far.

Melissa Fadden missing from Lowell MA in March 1997 (14 mo before these remains were found), so PMI is a bit short and she is younger than the age estimate though I note no skull/dentals were found www.namus.gov/MissingPersons/Case#/4663?nav

Robin Veudreuil missing from Worcester MA (a 1-hour drive from Barrington) since April 1995 and fits the height estimate. Has a history of hitchhiking with long-distance truckers but was reported by her family to "possibly' be headed in the other direction. www.namus.gov/MissingPersons/Case#/9869?nav
