Police have not shared details about how Bader was killed, but her family says she was attacked and sexually assaulted before being murdered and dumped in the woods.

"They killed her while she was pregnant," the victim's aunt, Stephanie Bender, told WJAR.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess drug use in that household was common and I don't just mean Mary Jane. Which would invite all sorts of other criminal activities, fraud, stealing, trafficking, etc. JMO

I could understand the family being apprehensive in supporting her if there were prior issues with trust, especially if stemming from drugs. (I have this exact situation with a sibling).
What confuses me the most is the reports from the “step mother” with no reference to a father in the obituary, and no reports from her maternal family listed in the obit.

In her 2018 FB page intro, top left, she says a RIP to her Dad/Grandpa.

Some of these groups have a designated whipping boy, who they can play out their sadistic fantasies on. I think she was unfortunate enough to be out in this position.
