Naomi Thomas was last seen around 11:15 p.m. on her family’s ring camera wearing a blue and pink tank top with jean shorts.

Police said her mother called police about 30 minutes later to report her missing.

Officers were seen searching the area around the family’s home on Babcock Street, not far from Roger Williams Park.

I hope she's alright. It doesn't say her condition, and I'm guessing from the location she was found near water.

The body of a five-year-old girl was found early Thursday morning in Roger Williams Park in Providence.

Shortly before 5 AM, the deceased body was located in the water at the park.

Police say they believe it was an accidental drowning at this time but they are not ruling out anything suspicious.

The body of a five-year-old girl was found early Thursday morning in Roger Williams Park in Providence.

Providence police had been called in to search for a report of a missing child shortly after midnight in the Washington Park area.

State Police were also called in for the search.
Shortly before 5 AM, the deceased body was located in the water at the park.

Police say they believe it was an accidental drowning at this time but they are not ruling out anything suspicious.

Little kids and water, especially autistic little kids and water, often spells disaster. Poor little thing.

Oh this hurts my heart so much. I have an autistic 6 year old brother, and luckily he is in the category of autistic kids who are terrified of being without someone they trust, so he has never ventured outside alone. It’s so sad because Naomi didn’t know she would get hurt. She just wanted to explore. Ugh! Rest easy Naomi, I hope you can now explore safely where you are. <3
