Maybe he didn't notice they weren't pairs when he stole them.

Who was he stealing them for?
I admit I am going to feel different if his mom only got one leg!
Were all the shoes the same size?

Gonna run back and read now, just like to ask the good questions first!

The shoe place is marketing the returned shoes correctly, lol:
Shoe Fashions Kenmore declared the "great right boot heist" as "officially over" after the shoes were returned to the store.

"Our stylish little outlaws have finally made their way home after an adventure around BrisVegas," the business said on social media.

"They've returned looking as fab (and slightly more notorious) than ever with just a wee touch of criminal fame."

🤣

Right heist , wrong day?

Perhaps that's why some shoe shops only put out one shoe and not a pair out so that stealing one won't be much use to anyone.

The man has confessed to the bizarre boot heist at Kenmore but said he made an innocent mistake.

On first reading, I misread the "wee touch" as the man leaving a little deposit on the shoes and I wondered how much cleaning they would need :)

Right.... So he owned up to stealing, and feels like a fool for not realising the other half of each pair was stored somewhere else.

He's just sorry it's made him look like a fool.

I saw one heading where he said he'd made a mistake and I assumed he was going to apologise for stealing the shoes but when I read the article he said his mistake was not realising the store didn't put both sides out,
and he felt embarrassed at his mistake.

So nothing there at feeling embarrassed at being a thief ?

Well, it's one thing to be a thief. He didn't know he was a stupid thief.

If the shoe fits....

Do I have this right? He left without the lefts?

He didn't set out to do right but then did right only to be left without any left?

I'll see myself out.

I'm thinking he left the lefts because they didn't fit right.

It's like the "who's on first" routine but instead something more like "he left, right?"
