Description​

Roman Mussabekov a été vue pour la dernière fois le 14 mai 2017, alors qu'il prenait l'avion à l'Aéroport internationale Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau de Montréal. Il a fait son enregistrement dans un hotel sur l'ile d'Antigua dans les Caraibes. Roman a communiqueé avec sa mère quelques jours après son arrivée pour lui dire qu'il allait faire une randonnée en montagne. Roman n'a jamais fait son "check-out" de l'hotel et nous avons aucune nouvelle depuis.

Roman Mussabekov was last seen on May 14, 2017, while flying at Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. He checked into a hotel on the island of Antigua in the Caribbean. Roman communicated with his mother a few days after his arrival to tell him that he was going on a mountain hike. Roman never checked out the hotel and we haven’t heard from him since. ''The taxi driver, who transported Mussabekov to English Harbour three years ago, remembered him clearly. She told Observer he was reserved and did not participate much when she attempted to engage him in a conversation.

They stopped on the way for him to use an ATM to pay for the trip, she recalled, but he was unable to access cash. When she dropped him off, Mussabekov promised he would pay her on the return journey. However, when she came back to collect him he did not appear.''

Relatives and friends of people who have disappeared in Antigua speak to the BBC about their anguish.

Russian-Canadian tourist Roman Mussabekov is one of those to have disappeared in Antigua. He went missing in May 2017 while holidaying on the island. His mother Marina Bezborodova (shown with him in this photo) still remains hopeful that he will be found.

"There's no police force in the Caribbean that has enough resources to do everything we have to do.
"We do a lot to look for people, get leads from the public and follow them up as much as possible. But when there are no leads we can't just go in circles. We need the public's support as much as possible," he adds.
For its part, the government has recognised the urgency of the matter and pledged a raft of new measures including the establishment of a designated missing persons' task force and the acquisition of dogs trained to detect cadavers.''

Mussabekov arrived in Antigua on May 15, 2017 and was staying in the Hodges Bay area, before reportedly taking a taxi to English Harbour the next day.

According to his mother – who allegedly spoke with the taxi driver who transported her son – he disembarked close to the Antigua Yacht Club Marina'.
