BBM--this is what I am wondering...if there were two kids and if one was JR....they took the time to conceivably dump off the "gun" back at Sykes' house...but wouldn't LE have talked to these kids? Maybe that is what is in the other reports? Wouldn't look good if RC was out with a gun to DCF...KWIM?

Yea, why did RC and MC go back to Sykes house before talking to LE except by phone?

Here is a rough trnascript of the CJ 911 call includes exact timestamps of truck accelerating past. (3 times)

I too think that the dispatcher on CJ’s call acted “exasperated”. To me CJ sounds frantic at least at one point. With the truck sounds just as he’s claiming Ron is “attacking” I find this call totally believeable.

In the Misty 911 call the operator sounded “miffed” that someone was calling in to report a crime of this magnitude (She said 2 kids were in the car with them) and they didn’t want to give thier name? When the operator asked again if she was sure she didn’t want to give her name and Misty replied “No” the operator was like “What do you mean you don’t want to give your name? You just said someone is endangering your life & the lives of your children?” (paraphrase) I can see why she would feel this way. If someone, anyone, was endangering the lives of others, especially children, they should make a full report, immediately. Don’t you think? To not do so implies it is not that serious or possibly made up. Even if they were gonna get “hounded” or harrassed, the children’s welfare is upper most, is it not? Save their own embarassment, putting the kids in jeopardy. Remember that the supposed “attack” was occuring DURING that call. If they were still being attacked why would she give up so easily? Why wouldn’t she want an officer ASAP? I’d love to know exactly when these two calls came in. Were they simultainous, Misty first? (I suspect) or Cj first?

:54 (seconds into call) truck reves past as CJ says “Here he comes again, tryin to ram me.” sound lasts for 3 seconds until :57

1:00 CJ says “He just ran me off of the road just now, I almost went in a ditch”

1:30 “Now he’s in front of me tryin to slam on brakes.”

2:00 “I know he’s got a gun in his truck, I know he does but it’s concealed, so the cops said it’s legal” (at this point the dispatcher guffas without saying anything) The legality of a firearm in a vehicle (as I know it) is that it must be at least 4 steps away from reach. Example: 1) open golve box 2) remove gun 3) remove from holster 4) aim
I do not know if this is what CJ meant or something else.

6:14 Dispatcher “Listen, you can not make threats like that…you need to speak with a deputy about this.”

7:30 CJ “Well, this man needs to stop pullin a gun on me. I’m tryin to do the speed limit but he keeps pullin a gun.”

7:48 CJ “I’m turnin around headin back toward Welatka”

7:50 Cj “I got over a hill and I don’t think he can see me.”

7:52 Dispatcher “ok,So why are you going back towards him?”

7:59 Dispatcher “So you’re gonna pass him and you don’t think he’s gonna see you?”

Misty 911 call transcript as well. Misty mentions 2 kids in the car twice. No sounds of vehicles in background, no sounds of scared kids, no sounds of either Ron or Misty comforting kids or even recognizing their presence. Seems strange…

There just seem to be a lot of he said, she said things going on with Ron Cummings doesn't it? He is just such an unlucky guy. Everyone seems to be picking on Ron. I say they just need to leave Ron alone. Stop picking on him, darn it.

Yikes. We're thinking alike, and I even came up with 7 different people that have done it ... and someone else came up with 3... and sure the list is longer.

a little strange that right after dispatch says that they only way CJ can be stopped is if LE see CJ driving recklessly. Misty then says ok, nevermind?

Is this another false report by Misty?

Another question i have is who are the "two kids" in the truck with them? One maybe JR? and who is the other?

I was hoping when i came on this morning by some small chance that HaLeigh was found and returned and all was good and well... (thinking HC was the second child in the truck, wishful thinking i know?!)

The second call is from CJ. He tells PSCO a very different story and claims Ronald has a gun.

You will also hear in this audio Jones asking the dispatcher if he could legally shoot Ron if conditions warranted it.

CAUTION: CJ's audio contains strong language...

While investigating the alleged aggravated battery with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill, deputies also took down a complaint from Misty regarding threatening phone calls she had received from CJ.

The two 911 calls give information that sheds some light on a couple of points.

(1) Who called 911 first

(2) Who was behind who at the beginning

Misty’s 911 call only lasted 2 minutes and 41 seconds and ended when she refused to give their names. There are two key points in the brief call to consider:

When asked by the 911 operator, Misty gave their location 1 minute and 12 seconds after the call began:

1:12 mark

Misty: We are passing Shell Harbor

Thirty four seconds after going past Shell Harbor, RC’s truck passed CJ’s car.

1:46 mark

911: Where’s that vehicle at?

Misty: Now it’s behind us

Oddly enough CJ’s 911 call mirrors the reference points above in Misty’s call at the beginning of this chase. There are four key early parts to consider:

CJ said Ronald was behind him when he first made the call:

8 second mark

CJ: I got Ronald Cumming behind me trying to ram me.

Twenty three seconds after the call began, CJ gave his location as having passed Shell Harbor and Ronald was still behind him:

23 second mark

CJ: - I just passed Shell Harbor

- He keeps trying to ram into the back of me and slide me off the road

Ronald’s truck began passing CJ’s vehicle.

54 second mark

A LOUD MOTOR NOISE IN PASSING IS CLEARLY HEARD

Then 43 seconds after passing Shell Harbor, Ronald is in front of CJ:

1:06 mark

CJ: Now he’s in front of me

Both vehicles were close together at the beginning of these calls. Ronald and Misty passed Shell Harbor 72 seconds after their 911 call began while CJ passed the same place 23 seconds after his call began. Since they were both close together and passed the land mark at the same time, Misty clearly called 911 first by 49 seconds.

Both calls place Ronald's truck behind CJ's car until 34 to 43 seconds after passing Shell Harbor.

If Ronald Cummings wasn't the aggressor in this confrontation, why did he feel compelled to pass CJ at what was apparently a high rate of speed especially if there were 2 children in the truck?

If there were two children in the vehicle when this all went down, I would think that LE would have shown a lot more concern for the welfare of the children in Ron's vehicle.

IF I were involved in a road incident like this and had a passenger I too would have the passenger call.

That would allow me to be alert at the wheel and read off the license # as RC did.
