Here are some pictures from Ron at the HaLeigh's Closet event today. Also one of Teresa. They are screenshots from the First Coast News video. I did not see Crystal at all on the video - only Marie, Ron and Teresa. Otherwise I would have gotten pictures of Crystal also to put in her thread.

And Teresa since she's been missed.

Do you know if any other news stations covered the balloon release?

The balloon release is Monday on HaLeigh's birthday.

HaLeigh was born at 2:16 a.m.

Therefore, the family is asking everyone to release balloons at 2:16 pm in honor of the 2:16 a.m. birth.

You can get the details of the release on the myspace page that has been set up detailing the balloon release. It has the press release on it, details to send in your photos, etc.

It comes to mind that it's amazing that the time of her birth is remembered when her birthdate during the 911 call could not be.

Why would Ronald bring anything today besides fliers, posters, etc.? Did Crystal even show up?! I didn't catch her in any of the photos or video . Did she send pencils, paper, and other items? As far as I can tell...this was set up for OTHER people to donate those items and not the parents.

I was very pleased to see Ronald and TN there. I hope Crystal will join them for Haleigh's Birthday on Monday to release the balloons.

Ronald was there as well as GGS, and TN, and yes they did donate supplies.

Why would Ronald bring anything today besides fliers, posters, etc.? Did Crystal even show up?! I didn't catch her in any of the photos or video? Did she send pencils, paper, and other items? As far as I can tell...this was set up for OTHER people to donate those items and not the parents...but I can see this may not be the way other people perceive it should work.

I guess I need to watch that again! LOL I missed a lot evidently to the hit and miss loading of the video on my machine. It is driving me crazy. I am glad to know that GGS was there, too. I am a bit surprised they donated items since I would really think that it was for other people, but then again...I have never heard of people with a missing child doing this before. Good to know. Thanks!

I recall reading that at the time it was released and IMO, it was yet another example of someone making excuses for Ronald, this time for losing his job but the road to blame is always the same and inevitably it always leads back to CS - I am so glad that I taught, and led by example, accountability to both of my sons! I dont know if Crystal was there or not did not seem to be to much coverage for it today. I was glad to see Ron and everyone together there today .

(bbm) It's just grown tiresome, never missing an opportunity to fault Crystal even when she does something positive. At least get the facts straight... it wasn't RC but Crystal and her family who organized Haleigh's Closet (and for heaven's sake no more about who got TES to come either let's just be grateful they're coming). If she's at the balloon release, she's there. If not she's no doubt doing something else in honor of her daughter's birthday. I would never presume to tell her how to do that any more than I would be telling her father whether to be in front of the cameras or show up for a photo op. I didn't know this was the Crystal (Bashing) thread, I thought that was the other thread. :waitasec:

Haleigh's Mother Gathers School Supplies in her Honor

"Instead of getting supplies for Haleigh her maternal family is collecting supplies for other kids. 'There's a lot of people who can't afford to buy school supplies for their children right now,' said Haleigh's maternal grandmother, Marie Griffis.

That's why they started collecting items. All the donations will be given to Haleigh's School, Browning Pearce Elementary. It's a way to honor Haleigh on her birthday."

Can anything just be about Haleigh? Ok her mother, despite her efforts just can do no right, she can not win--we got it. Let's focus instead on this beautiful missing child, and the search about which we can be prayerful and hopeful. Or light a candle if you prefer, release a balloon, w/e... but honor Haleigh by pulling in the fangs and claws. GOD BLESS TIM and TES.

No one said it wasn't them that organized it. I don't know where you read that. Everyone has known that since it was announced.I went back a couple of days and the only person that mentioned TES is Patty and it had nothing to do with who brought him in.

I saw he was doing signs for Haleigh, trying to get people to participate in the balloon ceremony Monday and was giving away free balloons for the purpose.

I thought he showed real class by showing up at the event today, after all the nasty things Marie & Crystal said about him this week. I feel soooo sorry for the guy....I can't imagine how hard it is to keep going in his situation.
