I still can't believe this. Of all the shows to go on to bring attention to Haleigh, he picks Maury. Seriously? He only covers things like, "I need to find out which one of these 8 men is my baby's daddy." Oh, I'm sorry, he also does shows on cheaters caught in the act, can you tell if this is a man or a woman, family secrets, etc. Pure garbage. What is wrong with him? What is wrong with these people?

Brittanee Drexel is also being featured on Maury’s show.

I would respectfully submit that what is wrong with RC is that his daughter is missing.

It doesn’t help either that so much bad karma in the way of insulting socio-economic ignorant and regionally biased comments from strangers are being slung.

Being a proponent of children's causes doesn't necessarily translate into devoting every third episode of his show to missing or exploited children. Many times his topics are children with severe disabilities who are amazing wonderful personalities. He's a good guy, I'll cut him some slack on his baby drama stuff, because that's what his audience seems to be geared toward and frankly it puts money in the bank for his own (adopted) kids' college funds. Whatever, I'm not going to necessarily sit here and suck up to Maury, I could care less really.

But he very much cares about children. And for Ron to go on ANY show, ANY show at all, is important. Everybody always says wouldn't you do ANYTHING to get your missing child's story out ... including all the nonsense about psychics, astrology, backwards speech, voice stress tests and hypnosis. Anything.

Go for it Ron.

Maury does care about children. He cares enough to pay for a lot of paternity tests.

Maury has been a proponent of children's causes in the past, and as much as I'm sure I'll take criticism for saying this - a good deal of his baby daddy drama shows are based on the pretense that it's all for the good of the children. I can kind of see this as a good fit for his show, and I hope Maury has the sensitivity and decency to bring this in at the right angle.

Respectfully, have you watched his paternity shows, which are quite frequent? I have watched some, until I just can't take it anymore, and I in know way think he does those shows for the good of the children. He does them for ratings. How sad for the children that they will see these shows where there moms are testing 3, 4, even 8 men to see who is the daddy.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, and mine is that I would not go on Maury's show to bring attention to my missing child, because I think he exploits people, including children. There are other shows and avenues to persue to get the word out. JMO.

The couple of missing children were lost amidst a sea of what have otherwise been a steady staple of prostitutes, plastic surgery and sex-crazed teens, which is obviously what his audience is interested in. For RC to appear there isn't the opportunity for genuine visibility for Haleigh some wish IMO but is somehow oddly befitting the circuslike spectacle this has sadly become. :frown: JMO

Agreed, but I did say in another post that he does these kinds of shows because his audience loves them and quite frankly, they pay his bills. Of course it's for ratings. He does preface every paternity test result with "for the sake of little so-and-so... let's read the results" kind of thing. I do concede that he's no Mark Klass, that's for sure. In any case, I think Ron should go on Maury Povich, Oprah, Wendy Williams and even Sally Jessie Raphael if the show could be resurrected for one benefit episode.

I still say if you're going to taut nonsense like hypnosis and aromatherapy, then for God's sake, do the Maury show, too. Go for it Ron.

Nancy Grace does not pay her guests for interviews. JVM does not pay her guests for interviews. I know that Good Morning America does not pay for interviews (they will however, fly guests in for the appearance, put the guest up in a hotel, and provide transportation to the studio - that is the extent). There is NO appearance fee. I am pretty sure none of the other morning shows pay either.

I have no idea if shows like Maury pay.

It's interesting that people complain when Ron does no interviews. Then they complain when he does do them. Seems he can't win.

At least Ron is keeping HaLeigh's face in the national spotlight. If he wasn't going on tv, HaLeigh's face and story would drop off the map. No one else in HaLeigh's family is doing anything to keep her beautiful face in the spotlight and raise awareness that she is still missing and needs to be found and come home! I don't care if people like Ron or not, at least he is doing SOMETHING to keep HaLeigh's face on tv nationally.

Most shows pay for the rights to show videos and pictures. IIRC, in the Anthony case Roy was paid $20,000 for a picture of the snake.

Some recent photos of Haleigh that have been seen on Nancy's Show have Ron's mother's name across the photo.

I am not disingenuous enough to make a statement that Ronald isn't making any money off this. It is quite apparent that he has decided to go the Anthony route.

I'm very happy he is keeping HaLeigh's face on tv nationally, I think it's great that he and Teresa continue to do so, regardless of how they are treated. They're all in my prayers.
