Bless you for that, Stilettos. Most people do not have the courage to break the cycle.

Thank you for saying that kamky. I cannot take credit for it....my daughter came along and gave me a great reason to change the path of my life. I had a load of help from God....and friends and surrogate parents. I am one very blessed woman. Would that one day we could say the same about little HaLeigh.

I was not sure where to post this or if it was already posted..mod's move as needed.

The way I understand this is that they did get a BAIL BONDS to assist in his jail release.

Thank you Shay, do we know if this attorney has ever represented RC before?

I don't think so. I scanned the PC Clerk's Criminal Records and didn't see the attorney on it. On all his other cases, it seems as if Ron either waved the right to counsel or was assigned a PD. I wonder if this means that the new attorney has been hired by Ron or took on the case pro bono.

Huh, I thought he requested a public defender at the hearing or something like that? I thought there was a list that was public of all the lawyers that were on the public defender list. Maybe that is only true where I lived in New York.

Thank you for the info

Perhaps the court quietly informed him that it appears he can afford an attorney afterall.

Isn't it possible that he was assigned this case? I'm trying to remember how Attn's are put on the list for PD...anyone remember?

Can't they have a private practice and offer their services to be put on the list to be selected as a PD? Then the case they are assigned is pretty much the luck of the draw?

BBM Yes any person could pay the TOTAL amount of the bail bond for Ron and the State will not care who it is. However, ONLY a bail bondsman who has a legal license and bonded property to use as collateral is allowed to post a bond on 10%. Otherwise a relative or friend would have to put up a property or cash equal to the WHOLE bail amount of $12,500.00 GGS might have signed against her property to get him out. Happens A LOT! Elderly people posting bail with thier homes, sometimes losing those same homes when the relative skips court or skips state.

Is this law specific to Florida concerning bond?

In the court where I work this is not necessarily the case. (Ohio)
