Misty hasn't been named a POI, in fact, LE has not named any POI's. Nor have they named any suspects. They haven't cleared anyone either.

IMHO Strange Strange situation if you ask me.

But see, IMO, he has to care. He needs the public to keep looking for Haleigh. The public perception is fickle - if they don't think he's sincere, they may lose interest. Fair, or unfair, he needs to be careful about he says and/or does. He needs advice and he needs to follow it. I never thought I would say this, but I wish they had both had gotten professionals to help them through this.

Yea true if all the public was looking at was HC which by the way should be the focus. But it has gone beyond that. Geraldo has made this case a circus and has made Ron his main focus at the time and no matter what Ron does now people will look at him differently. The reporters arent there anymore for this missing child they are there to watch Ronald. This case hasnt been about this sweet little girl for a while now sadly

Last I checked, Chad wasn't within statutory rape age range. The titillation of saying "Stepbrother" makes me wonder whether the fact that they were never raised together in the same home is just unimportant for some.

The age difference between Ron and Misty is no big deal IMO. Many posters have stated on here that back in the day it was the norm and was not frowned upon. Heck if it was, I would not be married to the wonderful man that I am. Men tend to more immature than woman IMO.

Stepbrother: Depending on how old they were when their parents met I really see no big deal there either. You can't help who you fall in love with, it just happens. It's not like they are brother and sister by any means. Or
1st cousin. They are not related in any way!

I am probably just not wording it right. I think Ron wants people to know he does not blame Misty and they are united as a couple. I do not think Ron cares if people agree with his decision to do so, or cares about all the nasty rumors. Kind of like I am gonna show the world that I love, believe, and trust Misty, but you do not have to like it. Hope that helps, sometimes I struggle with getting things worded properly.

I totally agree with you. My fear is that people believe all the mudslinging that ocurred and will stop looking for Haleigh and just go with the Ron and Misty have done something to Haleigh. This needs to get back to focus on Haleigh, not sure that is going to happen.

I think to disrupt what Rj has known his entire life (which is being with his father and grandmother) during what is now the most traumatic event of his life is wrong on so many levels. Let's see how many ways can you jack up a child mentally after his sister goes missing and he is left as a witness? Oh, yes...add to it by taking him completely away from either parent and the other family members who love him to put him with strangers! Great idea?! Seriously! WTH?! Make sure he knows what being abducted or kidnapped feels like, too!

I have to tell you that Geraldo is my all time unfavorite tv person - I can't really call him a reporter. But I think you're wrong about Ron - he could turn the perception around. He had public support at the beginning, he could get it back IMO.

Maybe she forgot to read the book on how to speak well when you are under the spotlight. Really, if this ever happened to me I would be hung on a cross because I have a habit of making grammer errors...

She keeps using the past tense. I believe LE looks for slip ups like that. I also believe a good number of people on this forum jumped on the attorney tonight when she used the past tense, although she was referring to a medical situation Haleigh previously had.

nomoresorrow, I read your post. I do understand your opinion that a marriage isn't needed in this day and age.

However, you stated clearly in your situation that you were a single full-time working Mother (Your boys are lucky to have you btw).

Haleigh's Mother doesn't have a job. She hasn't worked in quite a while, way before Haleigh disappearing.

I don't think anyone advised RC to marry. I think he might have come up with that one on his own or from his families advice. There used to be a time not so long ago that marital status was considered, and that may or may not be why RC and Misty are going to marry this week.

I could post about the long drawn out battles for custody of my step-daughters when they were minors. Their Mother got married everytime she took us to court for custody. She is now on her 6th husband. O/T but that was back in the early to mid 90's. So not so long ago.

Actually Kat I feel lucky to have them - even now that they're both grown I never take that for granted - matter of fact I feel even more blessed because I love my oldest son's wife and my youngest son's gf just like my own. :blowkiss: (the daughters that I never had)

Okay I see what you are saying and I agree he wants everyone to see he stands by her side, yet I cant help but feel it is to strengthen her weak details of the night in question. Just sayin.....

What amazes me is every post I post about rc or Misty gets attacked, yet when I beg those who attack to PLEASE tell me what has made them think this is a STRANGER abduction other than Misty saying so, no one answers. Believe me I would love to think outside the box, but I keep missing these clues or evidence of forced entry or any kind of abduction. How have these people (IN their MINDS only) cleared Misty. HELP me out here....

No one is attacking you Im just not gonna say either way because I dont know and until LE comes out and says something different. As long as LE doesnt I will give Ron and Misty the benefit of the doubt

According to the marriage license, the Griffis' were married 1/6/02. CS was a teenager, I think this was around the time she hooked up with Ron. Chad would have been 22. I don't know how old he was when he got married.

I totally agree but how do you get past the fact that her stories are not consistent and to me she has not been credible...I can go on and on about why, but please dont make me it hurts my brain

I don't think he knows what or how to change. His mother and friends are too close and too involved in the family history/issues. He needs someone from the outside to say, "Hey Buddy, time out, let's think about you're doing ?" He needs that person, that direction, like yesterday. I hope he gets it. I really do. I will try to explain my reasons. From what I have read, heard from Crystal herself and their neighbor, Misty adored those kids. She took good care of them, played with them and by all of the above accounts she cared for them deeply.

We do not know what Misty has told LE however I do think she would've broken down by now if she was involved at all.

It may be a family member but I don't think for the reasons other people do. I think it was sexually motivated, period. If this is the case, I don't think the family knows anything about this persons deep rooted evil. They do tend to hide it well.

An unknown SO. There are so many in that area they could've been watching her since she moved in. A great oppurtunity happened when Ron went on nights. A young girl home alone with 2 young children. He could've been looking in the window many times getting their schedule, seeing the layout of the home. It wouldn't be that hard. I can name another case where the perp had never been in the house before but he managed to navigate to the little girls bedroom, leave no DNA and leave through a locked alarm door. Go figure. This, is what I think happened.
