ROSZAN JEAN PAYNE was last seen leaving her house in Royse City, Texas in May of 1994. Roszan left in her 1989 (pea-green color) Volvo 4 door, which has never been recovered.
At first her family thought she left for a few days, but when Roszan never returned or called, the family filed a missing persons report. The family searched for Roszan and were told by a few people she was seen at the Nook, a local bar in West Tawakoni, Texas and also at a friends house in Hawk Cove, Texas.
A few years after Roszan went missing, the detective that was assigned to her case in 1994 saw Roszan's family and asked if they ever found her. The family called and discovered there was not an active missing persons report on Roszan. The family has since filed a second missing persons report.

Roszan was a mother and her family is still trying to find answers as to what happened to her. Her case has obviously been neglected/forgotten by law enforcement for the past two decades, and it appears the refiling of the missing persons report happened very recently. I was unable to find any newspaper articles on her. I looked up her name and the NamUS case number listed on the missing flyer and she wasn't on there yet. It sounds as if they are waiting for her case to be approved and added to NamUs.

Roszan Payne was married to Ronald Earnest Payne in 1992. She had previously been married to John Sidney Casey in 1983 and her maiden name was Roszan Gagnon. This comes from marriage records on Ancestry.

The family does not remember the mans name. Family states Roszan was making payments on the car but shortly before she went missing she had stopped making payments on the car. It seems however that one could look up the title of her car under the Financiers name and then trace its history unto now. I would think the person who titled that car right after the Funancier could illuminate where they bought it. It might have been her? Or whoever did buy it would know who had it to sell and why.

Details of Disappearance
Payne was last seen leaving her home in Royse City, Texas on May 15, 1994. She was driving her pea-green four-door 1989 Volvo. She never returned home and after a few days without contact her family filed a missing persons report with the police. When the family searched for her on their own, they heard she had been seen at the Nook, a bar in West Tawakoni, Texas, and at a friend's home in Hawk Cove, Texas.

A few years after Payne's disappearance, the detective who'd been assigned to her case in 1994 happened to see her family, and asked if they'd ever found her. At this time, the family realized there was no active missing persons report for Payne. They have since filed a second report.

Payne had bought the Volvo from a neighbor and was supposed to be making payments on it, but she had stopped making the payments shortly before she went missing. The car was still not registered in her name when she went missing. It has never been located. Little information is available in Payne's case.

On Sunday, October 17, 2021 and Monday October 18, 2021, the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office Investigators coordinated with the Adventures with a Purpose dive team and the family of Roszan Payne to search some locations of interest in reference to Payne’s disappearance. Roszan Jean Payne was last seen in August of 1994. Payne was last seen by family members at her residence in Royse City, TX. At the time of her disappearance she was driving a late 1980’s model green Volvo. Adventures with a Purpose divers searched an area of SH276 near the 2 mile bridge and multiple coves until making their way back to the FM751 causeway. The Adventures with a Purpose team also searched the cove at Sky Point RV Park in East Tawakoni and the stone quarries on County Road 339 and FM 429 in Kaufman County. Although these searches provided no additional lead, Hunt County Sheriff Terry Jones would like to once again thank Adventures with a Purpose and their entire team for their efforts.
