Strange there is no report of anyone picking him up hitchhiking. I live in McKinleyville. <modsnip: no source link> What I hate to mention is that the Mad River is just a half block away and it flows into the Pacific maybe a mile away. I hope he's alive and is hiding for some reason but it's been so long. Very sad didn't know him.

I was working with his mother since DAY 1 looking for him. I have asked her numerous times to see the alleged messages from him and still have never seen them to this day and I do not believe that police nor the private investigators have seen them either.

In an emotional Facebook video posted on August 4, 2025, she (his girlfriend) demanded action from the Arcata Police Department.

"This is my formal public request for the Arcata Police department to contact me, to interview me, to show me they are actively investigating because Roy’s life still matters. I will not stop, I will not be quiet and I will not let Roy be forgotten. DO YOUR JOB!" Perez said in the video.

Arcata Police stated that Perez was not contacted earlier because she was not mentioned in the initial investigation and her identity was unknown to them. They have issued multiple search warrants and interviewed Tsatoke's family and friends known to detectives. Police have also been in contact with private investigators retained by Tsatoke's family.
