True to her impeccable style, she wore a custom Alexander McQueen spring/summer 2025 draped skirt suit.

However, it was her striking amethyst necklace that captured the attention of royal watchers.

Once part of an opulent parure - comprising a tiara, necklace, earrings and a brooch - the piece traces its origins to Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III.

The collection was passed down to Queen Charlotte's daughter, Princess Charlotte, who married Frederick I, King of Württemberg. Although the couple had no children together, Frederick had a son, William, from a previous marriage.

William's daughter, Catherine, was a cousin of Queen Mary's father, the Duke of Teck. In 1898, she bequeathed the parure to Mary.

The amethyst parure went up for auction at Sotheby's Geneva in May 1993 with an estimated value of $75,000-$125,000.

The set sold for £55,357 to an anonymous buyer. It later resurfaced at the London Grosvenor House Antiques Fair, listed for £150,000, before being sold once again.

It appears that Anna Wintour may have acquired the necklace, as she was seen wearing it at the Golden Age of Couture party at London's V&A Museum in 2007.

So these little daguerreotype looking ancestor photos they wear on pendants with ribbon backgrounds. What are those and what do they signify? Their branches of royal lineage?

A Royal Family Order is a badge or brooch worn on a silk ribbon which is presented by the monarch to female members of the royal family.

The orders exist in several European monarchies, but in Britain the tradition was started by King George IV in the early 1800s.

The order takes the form of a painted portrait of the sovereign in miniature, surrounded by a border of diamonds and surmounted by a crown. Each monarch chooses their portrait at the beginning of their reign and they also select the color ribbon that it is worn with.

The order denotes female members of the royal family who are close in relation or who render services to the monarch in the course of their public duty.

The necklace Anna Wintour is wearing looks different from the necklace in the other photos. The stones aren't surrounded by diamonds (I presume) and the pendant stones are missing. It seems to be a simplified piece of jewelry, and I like it. :)

Yikes!
It’s interesting but I can’t embrace the snake around my neck look!
That’s just me.

Camilla is wearing a white and beige coat dress by Anna Valentine and a Lily of the Valley brooch. The Lily of the Valley is seen by many to symbolize enduring love. According to online royal jewelry expert the Court Jeweller, the brooch once belonged to the Queen Mother.

On the last day of the Italian visit, HM wears a new brooch by Italian designer Lucia Odescalchi.

Personally, not my favourite - but glad to see some new jewels

Today, Queen Camilla attended the Easter Sunday Service with the King and other members of the royal family.

For this occasion, HM wore a brooch set with diamonds and a central blue cabochon gemstone, which many assume is a blue moonstone.

The Queen debuted this jewel in July of 2022 and we have no further information of the provenance for this brooch.
