I just checked Flight24 and zoomed in on Moscow’s airport. Planes were lined up to take off. I clicked on some of them and their destinations were Mongolia, Kazakhstan and…very interesting I think…a plane from China Airlines and three or four planes one right after the other also heading to China.

Lukashenka held talks with Prigozhin, his press service reported

"This morning Russian President Vladimir Putin briefed his Belarusian colleague on the situation in southern Russia with the private military company Wagner. The heads of state agreed on joint actions. Following the agreements, the President of Belarus, having further clarified the situation through their own channels, in coordination with the President of Russia, held talks with the head of the Wagner PMC, Evgeny Prigozhin.

The talks lasted for the whole day. As a result they came to an agreement on the inadmissibility of unleashing a bloodbath on the territory of Russia. Yevgeny Prigozhin accepted the offer of President Alexander Lukashenka to stop the movement of armed men of Wagner in Russia and to take further steps to de-escalate tension.

At the moment, on the table is absolutely advantageous and acceptable option of resolving the situation, with security guarantees for the Wagner PMC fighters.

As previously reported, the President of Belarus has held two meetings with the security bloc of the country on the situation today," said the press service.

Belarus president says Progzhin accepted de-escalation proposal

The office of Belarus president Alexander Lukashenko just announced that Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin accepted a proposal to “stop the movement of armed persons of the Wagner company on the territory of Russia and take further steps to de-escalate tensions,” the president’s office said, with similar reporting in Russian news outlets.

The statement said that Vladimir Putin briefed Lukashenko in the morning and, with his approval, Lukashenko held negotiating talks with Prigozhin.

“Negotiations continued throughout the day. As a result, they came to agreements on the inadmissibility of unleashing a bloody massacre on the territory of Russia,” the statement read.

Wagner nor Prigozhin has not commented on the negotiations.

....the enemy of my enemy is my friend?
Winston S. Churchill — 'If Hitler invaded hell I would make at least a favorable reference to the devil in the House of Commons.'

Not sure which one is the devil in this scenario… but you catch my drift.

Not sure I believe the statements coming from Belarus. If Wagner stops he and all his men are dead men walking.
All the panic in Moscow, the Russian military standing aside and then they stop.
Might be true but I’m not buying it yet.

Prigozhin says his forces "are turning our columns around," amid claims of deal brokered by Lukashenko

Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin published a new audio recording Saturday claiming he was turning his forces around from a march toward Moscow.

“We turning our columns around and going back in the other direction toward our field camps, in accordance with the plan,” he said in a message on Telegram.

The announcement comes as the Belarusian government claimed President Alexander Lukashenko had reached a deal with Wagner boss to halt the march of his forces on Moscow.

"This morning, Russian President Vladimir Putin briefed his Belarusian counterpart on the situation in southern Russia with the private military company Wagner," the statement said. "The heads of state agreed on joint actions.
"As a follow-up to the agreements, the President of Belarus, having being additionally informed on the situation through his own channels, and in agreement with the President of Russia, held talks with the head of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin," the statement continued. "Yevgeny Prigozhin accepted the proposal of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to stop the movement of armed persons of the Wagner company on the territory of Russia and take further steps to de-escalate tensions."

CNN has reached to Prigozhin's office for comment.

Belarus president Alexander Lukashenko’s press office said that Vladimir Putin has thanked him for negotiating with Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, who agreed to pull back his mercenaries after talking with Lukashenko.

“Today at 9 pm, the presidents spoke on the phone again. Belarus president has informed the Russia president in great detail about the results of his negotiations with authorities of Wagner PMC,” the statement reads. “President of Russia supported and thanked his Belarus colleague for the work he did.”

The Kremlin has yet to make any public statements about the negotiations.

Anyone have any idea what was actually going on today.
None of these people are stupid, all of them lie and use AI videos etc and those "attempts" to stop them going to Moscow were just lame.
Thought I saw this had been planned for months?
I'm very confused.

No one has a crystal ball when it comes to my mother country.

Trying to think logically. JMO because no one gives coherent explanation. Mercenaries don't subscribe to loyalty nor idea, only to money. It seems that loyalty to their own group is demanded, but that's all.

And knowing Prigozhin, an ex-con and oligarch, if you remove the convict layer, he is very much "for money". Ruble is down, though, and his group is in Ukraine that financially has got a lot of donations in all forms of hard currency. So probably, at a certain point, his masters in Kremlin got suspicious of him and planned to move Wagner under the Ministry of Defense. Prigozhin, being quite street-smart, saw the writing on the wall, and this is how the mutiny started. Only his group is truly tired and in shortage of armaments. (I saw videos of people of Rostov-on-Don bringing them homemade food and water as they looked exhausted).

I think Prigozhin was explained that Wagner would be toast. On one side, there is Kadyrov and his band, on the other, Rosguard that is afraid of ex-cons. Wagner would be squeezed in some pincers. I suspect that "an appropriate solution" would be pay Prigozhin to leave the group and the country (he's toast anyhow, whether he survives or not). What happens to Wagner? I think the situation showed the danger of having mercenaries in own country, so the most experienced ones would strengthen the regular forces.

It is the beginning of humongous disintegration and centrifugal processes in Russia. How to avoid the net result (not advantageous either considering that oil gold and mineral resources plus vast empty lands are behind the Ural ridge)? That requires very smart, unorthodox-thinking politicians here.

I’m confused too. None of this makes sense.

Thank you for some insight! But Putin is humiliated now, right? This can’t be over.

CNN is reporting the Kremlin is dropping charges & Wagner chief is going to live in Belarus. What in the world?

We don't know how he feels. He is not browsing the internet by himself anyhow, so it is what news he receives. But yes, if you think about Kazakhstan not supporting him, definitely. But the biggest sign for me was the slogan "Dagestan for Dagestanians" or such. I am afraid of Kadyrov either, USSR having had the experience of being run by a half-Georgian half-Ossetinian tzar for a long time and what happened as the result. Lots of things are very unstable.

I am slightly irritated when people are commenting on how Putin feels because the hope that "the next one will be better" indicates the same, total lack of democratic institutions. After all, the British kings are not the geniuses by far, yet since 1689 it didn't matter, essentially. This is where Russian problem lies. It really shouldn't be how Putin thinks or who comes next, but here we are...

(Time to read how the neighboring countries were dealing with Persian satrapy. Maybe history will teach give us some ideas).

Putin looks weak and has not obviously designated a second-in-command ready to take over should his health fail more. Big mistake.

Prigozhin looks like a huge target. Better not stay in any high buildings with windows

Luvashenko looks pretty good, in the place to demand more compensation from Russia for having nuclear weapons in Belarus soil. And is he now a nuclear power ?
