I agree.

I found it amazing that Zelenskyy said that Ukraine has been "all alone" in the war against Putin's Russia. Totally insulting all Americans and the people of all of the other countries that have provided massive amounts of aid the last three years. JMO.
I don't think some as actually listening to what Zelensky actually said. We've given billions and he says "he's all alone", he loves playing the Martyr. Moo

Russia's most significant opposition leader for the past decade, Alexei Navalny, has died in an Arctic Circle jail, the prison service has said.
President Vladimir Putin's most vociferous critic, he was serving 19 years on extremism charges that were widely seen as politically motivated.
Lots of Americans in his prisons, lots of opposition and freedom fighters dead, and so on and on. Inform yourself, it's well written and known for longgggg time, murdering monster. Some people seemed to miss such crucial and clearly very important information that the rest of the reading world knows, because it's ...something to be aware of, our enemy, and other European countries nearby as well. Keep up. The 'martyr' took a stand and never sat down against the disgusting invasion. Untwist and get read.

Dictators do not want to stop war. Dictators do not promise to stop regime change attempts. Dictators do not want free speech. Try again.
I want some of what you're taking. Sounds like quite a trip.
It's not Americas responsibility to "prevent Putin take over Europe" that's Europe's responsibility.

Why isn't Europe doing more? How come they aren't spending more to send weapons to Ukraine and even sending troops? Why is it supposed to be up to the US to carry this burden when many European countries have refused for years to spend even the bare minimum on their NATO obligations? No I agree with Trump the distinct lack of defense spending by Europeans except those on Russias border is appalling. It is not up to the US taxpayer to subsidize Europe and not up to the US to send troops. European countries could have upped their defense game a long time ago but chose not to.
When you're talking about dollars instead of percentages Europe has provided around the same funding to Ukraine than the US has.

You use that word subsidize, I don't think it means what you think it means.

Being 'different thinking' sometimes makes some feel ..powerful when they have nothing else. Not you branmuffin.

The White House removed a TASS reporter from the Oval Office on Friday once the issue was flagged to them, saying the Russian state outlet was not on the approved media list for U.S. President Donald Trump's meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, a White House official said.

Are you telling me that the security is so lax in the WH that any Tom Dick or Harry can enter a room where the supposedly most powerful and polarizing person currently in the world is and they got through? Seriously, if you believe that I have some real estate to sell you.

Laughable, but really, 'they' exist among us.

Vitaliy Deyneha, founder of one of Ukraine's largest military charities Come Back Alive, about the White House fiasco:

"We were not pushed around today and weren't dragged into a trap. I didn't vote for Zelensky, but I fully support him today. At the briefing with Trump, it wasn't Trump who looked like the leader of a strong, free, and dignified country.

As for panic, blackmail, and weapons supplies – it will be difficult for us, and once again we will pay with our land and blood for others' greed, cowardice, and weakness. But this won't lead to ultimate military defeat either. Europe and the rest of the world will step up in some ways. And in other ways, the realities of modern warfare will make themselves known. Drones make quick raid operations impossible. So if we have enough of them, we can slow down and make the enemy's advance extremely costly. And since drones are also quite cheap, together with Europeans we will somehow manage them. It will be difficult.

It will be hard for us, but we will endure. Today, there was no shame for our President and country. I'm not sure Americans can say the same.

Churchill said that a nation that chooses dishonor over war will have both. Today we did not choose dishonor. And it seems no one offered us any other choice today."

Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen:"Dear @ZelenskyyUA, Denmark proudly stands with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people."

Russia illegally and unjustifiably invaded Ukraine.

For three years now, Ukrainians have fought with courage and resilience. Their fight for democracy, freedom, and sovereignty is a fight that matters to us all.

Canada will continue to stand with Ukraine and Ukrainians in achieving a just and lasting peace.

Norwegian PM: Trump’s accusations are “deeply unfounded”

The Norwegian government hopes the Trump administration will recognize the importance of “a just and lasting peace in Ukraine,” Prime Minister Støre said on 28 Feb.

Ukraine is Europe! We stand by Ukraine. We will step up our support to Ukraine so that they can continue to fight back the agressor.

Today, it became clear that the free world needs a new leader. It’s up to us, Europeans, to take this challenge.

The position of the "leader of the free world" is now officially vacant. Until the spirit of liberty returns to the White House, the burden rests on the shoulders of the brave boys and girls of the Ukrainian army. Well I wish him good luck on trying to collect that debt. He seems to forgotten Putin has nuclear weapons. Zelenskyy's gonna keep talking til HE pushes Putin to shut him up. He don't stand a chance. Get ready for a nuclear war.
Moo...
even with the ocean, we already have this war here.... and the war in the middle east...the world is just pretty small these days and you cannot have a war without involving everybody else

That's what worries me. I know Trump has been referred to as a Russian agent for over 40 years since his first forays into Russia. The Russians are expert at exploiting an individual's weaknesses and Trump's weakness is his vanity. Trump has repeatedly shown his disdain for the west's policies going so far as saying publicly that he believed Russia over the USAs intelligence that Russia had not interfered in the 2016 election. At a meeting in Finland with Putin, they had a private conversation for 2 hours with no transcripts, no other people but two translators for each man. That is unprecedented. He constantly curries favor with Putin calling him a strong man, wishing he had the same control over his country that Putin has over his.

So earlier in this conversation I brought up all the military installations that the US has - 128 military bases in 49 countries. In Europe there are over 60K troops. If the US is no longer interested in protecting their allies in NATO are they going to clean up shop and leave? Does the US consider Europe an ally any more under Trump. If not, then I think it is imperative that all those military bases be considered enemy combatants. Because I can't get over this niggling feeling that one of the classic forms of war is to attack from within. It's obvious to me that Trump is more interested in appeasing Putin than showing a united front with NATO against Russia's aggression. Having US military bases all over Europe with a Republican president who views Putin's desire to return Russia to its pre-revolutionary boundaries as a desire he can understand is extremely dangerous, imo.

I see what you are saying, and I think it all depends on how far the US people are prepared to let their govt go. And if the US people are prepared to allow the US Govt to attack their allies. Many US people's origins are in the countries that are speaking out against the current tactics. These countries are their original homelands.

I agree it is very scary. For the whole world. The US is isolating itself among its free world partners. Where does that lead? It is becoming to be about much more than Ukraine's freedom.

imo

Canada stands with Ukraine. We have the highest population of Ukrainians outside of Ukraine and Russia (1.5 million) I presently have 5 refugees from Ukraine living in my small apartment block.

American historian Snyder backs Zelenskyy, following a heated argument between Ukrane's, US presidents:

"If they want to use American power to stop the war, apply it to the aggressor. Abusing the victim is not going to end a war of aggression"

As Trump pursues direct talks with Putin, experts warn a "frozen war" isn't peace—it's Putin's strategy

Russia would use any ceasefire to rearm while 6M Ukrainians remain under occupation, facing identity erasure

History shows Moscow always returns, only stronger. The real choice isn't between war and peace but between supporting Ukraine now or facing greater costs later

Trump may halt all military aid to Ukraine following Oval Office clash, WP reports.

U.S. President Donald Trump is considering ending ongoing shipments of military aid to Ukraine following a heated exchange in the White House between Trump and President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Washington Post (WP) reported on Feb. 28, citing a senior Trump administration official.
