Z wants a ceasefire agreement with security guarantees.

He is willing to give 50% of his country’s minerals for this ceasefire agreement, but first he needs security assurances that Trump will not give.
He must kiss the ring, have faith in the overlord.

Ah, is that a feudal whiff in the air?

French president Emmanuel Macron said he is ready to start discussions on nuclear deterrence for Europe, hinting France could help to protect other EU countries, given the security threats posed by Russia.

European leaders will meet in London on Sunday to discuss a peace plan for Ukraine and they will attend a European Union summit on Thursday.

Macron told Portuguese TV RTP in an interview he posted on X on Saturday that if Europe wanted to move towards “greater autonomy” in matters of defence and nuclear deterrence, then its leaders should start a discussion about it.

“I am available to open this discussion...if it allows to build a European force,” he said. “There has always been a European dimension to France’s vital interests within its nuclear doctrine.”

It’s about time

Zellensky has been clear that the problem is with the US refusal to participate with other EU countries in protecting Ukraine if Russia tries to invade again after they have signed the peace agreement. He's said that numerous times, both yesterday at the WH and today.
Why does the US have to do anything? Why can't Europe do it? And why haven't they done it sooner? JMO.

It’s all Hitler’s fault really. Long story.

???

The author of the book is an American.
He's written about several Republican Presidents. and others. Because he's an American doesn't make it true. He's written opinion articles for many left wing news sources.

Zelensky and Ukraine want to continue this rhetoric, it's severely damages relationships.

I'm sure that I would be treated very bad. No doubt about it. JMO.
I am not sure what exactly you are planning to do when visiting these other countries, but if you decide to be unpleasant, you will more than likely just be ignored. If you choose to make trouble, then you might be dealt with accordingly. Don’t visit Russia however, troublemakers more often than not end up dead. But you are a Trump supporter, so they might treat you better.

What about Trump supporters like me? How will they be treated?

If the Trump supporters are doing good no one should be able to tell the difference .

Imo

He doesn't trust Putin so no ceasefire is going to happen under his leadership. Maybe Zellensky needs to resign for the sake of Ukraine.

Zellensky has said he's willing to sign the cease fire agreement if he has a guarantee that NATO countries will provide security to Ukraine if Russia breaks their word and invades Ukraine. The US and Russia are the only countries who don't want to agree to those terms.

What ceasefire agreement?
I'm not sure they're even on speaking terms. Zelenskyy stated in his public statement as well as at the press conference, he wants to continue to fight. I don't see a cease fire on the horizon. Trump was the one who offered to broker a potential ceasefire. I think that ship has sailed.

Why? Unless you're protesting or making a fuss, they would never know your a Trump supporter.

I've had very pleasant visits to European countries. People there are very polite. I wish everyone in the US had such good manners.

It's easy to understand. I'm having a civil conversation with a group of Europeans and I tell them I support President Trump and how he is handling the situation in Ukraine.

I will probably be treated poorly. JMO.

He doesn’t want to see a ceasefire aborted by Russia for the umpteenth time. That is what he said.

No, NATO is not going to jump into this. He is not a NATO member. NATO issued a statement he needs to fix this with the US.

At the current time there is no deal for minerals and absolutely no peace deal. Trump offered to try to broker and a mediator, but Zelenskyy doesn't want that. He wants his land returned to 1996, all the Russian assets that were frozen for Ukraine, and a commitment that the US and NATO will fight Putin on his behalf. This is never ever going to happen. Putin has explicitly stated that if the US or NATO send troops to Ukraine, it will be an act of war.

This is very misleading IMO.

ummm....that one guy seems like an outlier and that is not an official NATO statement. Considering which countries are in NATO....they all seem to stand with Zelenskyy, rather than with Putin/Trump/North Korea.

‘Free world needs a new leader’, says EU foreign chief after Trump Zelenskyy row

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canada-reaction-trump-zelenskyy-meeting-1.7471760

Countries that have announced (in response to the meeting with Trump and gang yesterday) that they stand with Zelenskyy include: Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Netherlands, Norway, Czech Republic, Sweden, Latvia, Croatia, Canada...etc., etc. And they are all members of NATO.

These leading democratic nations are aghast at Trump's actions and comments.
That guy, is the chief of NATO. I think he has the authority to speak on behalf of NATO. Moo

Zelenskyy is an all or nothing person. I don't see him accepting any kind of compromise.

That's not going to work because he has no strength or power to demand what he wants at the negotiation table. JMO.

I disagree. I can tell from recent interactions I've had.

Time for me to move on from this and get back to the topic of this thread.

It’s all Hitler’s fault really. Long story.
Also, that minor matter of the Cold War that lasted 44 years and has, for all intents and purposes, been revived by Putin.

I saw the statement by the head of NATO, Rutte. He has frequently, just recently, issued statements in strong support of Ukraine.

I think we need to understand, this is not a free-for-all bar fight.

IMO, NATO has no option to publicly chastize or futher embarrass, even humiliate Trump. As the head of NATO, he must publicly side with the US, regardless of his personal opinion. He cannot be seen to publicly side with a non-NATO country. Not a chance.
Well things have changed. NATO message is very clear, fix it.
