Russia Attacks Ukraine - 23 Feb 2022 #11

28 February 2025

"Because the relations are more than just two presidents."

He notes it is also about "historical relations" between the two countries, as well as "strong relations between our two people."

"That is why I began to thank your people from our people," Zelensky says. "Your people helped to save our people."

The interview ends with Zelensky saying: "We are thankful, and sorry for this," adding that Ukraine only wants to have strong relations with the US.
Many thanks to you for finding this.
IMO.

It is clear that some would only consider him properly appreciative if he had licked Trumps derrière and Vance's boots while in the oval office. NO other expression of appreciation either before or after that meeting will do.

That was on February the 23rd before he came to the White House. Before he got on Twitter and said negative things about the United States and making demands.

IMO, it all comes down to Trump wanting Z to basically fall to his feet and thank HIM profusely and “kiss the ring”. So while we can all see that Zelensky has been plenty thankful and grateful, especially to people of the US, it’s not enough for Trumpx which is why he melted down and he and Vance started yelling. Zelenskyy never one yelled or even raised his voice, he was very calm the entire time. He showed way more patience than most, while being publicly berated by a national leader (again, all IMO)

He is after money though, if I went to see my bank manager tomorrow for a loan or a grant I would turn up in the smartest suit I could find, the higher levels of USA business are about conservative business dress re suit and tie, if I turned up to see my bank manager in casual dress it would immediately rub him up the wrong way
It is not casual dress! It is military attire!

For Ukrainians, it is a show of solidarity, which conveys their fight to the rest of the world.

[…]

President Zelenskyy replied simply: "I will wear costume after this war will finish."

[…]

"This is the reality that we’re living in. Obviously, our president is going to reflect that," says Agatha Gorski, co-founder of the Shadows Project, an NGO and creative consultancy aimed at preserving and popularising Ukrainian culture. "If you’re walking around Kyiv then you see that people look like this," she adds.

[…]

"It shapes a narrative. A very important narrative that we are at war and that this is our reality."

[…]

"Our president is the very specific representation of who we are, what message we want to give to the rest of the world, and his clothing is part of this message and they’re part of the personal brand which doesn’t just represent him but represents us as a country," Gorski tells Euronews Culture.

Wrong! It is from his Fox News interview on the same day that Trump kicked him out of the White House!

I completely agree. It’s also clear that some people will ignore every piece of evidence, no matter how obvious, and keep pushing false narratives in bad faith.

If you watch the whole video, you will see, the incident playing on TV was within the last 2 minutes. We listen to him with his demands and how much Europe had done for him for a good 30 to 40 minutes prior to that. I thought the president was very patient, me I was getting madder by the minute.

Like I said he's needy. I personally don't think he can be coached. I think he's a one-man show, a non-team player. Glad he's not our problem anymore.

Hope we get a peac e deal done and get out of Ukraine.

No matter how many links are provided about the many, many, many thanks that Zelenskyy has given to the US people and others, the focus of your posts remains on debating that terrible pile on at the WH and what Zelenskyy said or didn't say on public television there?

It seems so mundane. As does Vance bringing it up in the first place. What is Putin going to do in any peace deal is far more important.

imo

for a sec thought you were talking about President Trump as these seem much more accurate descriptors for him. 😂

Z received a heavy dose of reality in the past day or two. I still think he was set up by the leftists in the U.S., (at minimum was delusional in thinking he was still dealing with them) coached to do what he did, in an attempt to once again, defeat T. The democrat/leftists in the U.S. have no concern for human life when it comes to destroying T. They would be more than happy to trade a half million lives in war just to do so.

The economic ties that will come from the deal will be stronger for the defense, rebuilding, and growth of Ukraine than missiles, bullets, and bodies.
Wowza, wayyy off.

Zelensky needs to show respect in other ways too, height of rudeness and disrespect entering the Oval Office, the most important office in the free world, without wearing a suit and tie, I understand the point Zelensky is trying to make wearing military attire but it is disrespectful to not wear a suit meeting the leader of the free world
Elon Musk is allowed to roam the WH in a T-Shirt and baseball cap. How is that not disrespectful too?

VZ has been very clear that he is the head of a country at war, literally fighting for its existence, and that he will wear a "costume" (loved that phrase, nice one) when it's over. Trump and co knew this and were in no doubt as to how he dresses and were happy to have him there.

Winston Churchill also dressed in combat wear at the WH during wartime so where is the difference?

Focusing on entirely the wrong issue.

The focus needs to be on Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the thousands of Ukraine children who have been abducted by Russia, the Ukraine land that has been occupied by Russia, and what Putin is going to do about any of that in any peace deal.

imo
I am fully supportive of Ukraine, I don’t think that they should surrender a single inch of Ukrainian soil in any deal, Russia need to give up every inch of territory they have stolen over the years, but Zelensky needs to step down and be replaced by another leader, he has reverted to his old comedian mode with his dress sense and other aspects of his behaviour he also has a habit of rubbing people up the wrong way. Needs to step aside

Please provide the source, or did I miss it? Never heard of Arlene Dickerson. I don't think she is one of the sharks on the show here in the U.S.?
She was on the Canadian version which is called Dragons' Den.

How he works, ethical is a word he has no concept of , never did. Pure blackmail, involving thousands more of human lives, innocents because he looks a fool in front of p.

In previous trips abroad Zelensky wore green/khaki combat outfit to match what the military wear, but to meet Trump/Vance he wore all black non combat outfit, he was dressed as if he was going to a Metallica concert not meeting the leader of the free world

I agree. I honestly hope President Zelensky doesn't sign a deal, trump can't be trusted to uphold it. I think it would be bad for Ukraini , knowing the issues my country is having with the trump administration my opinion the deal wouldnt be good for Ukraine. Jmoo

How about Trump walking in front of the late Queen! Maybe he needs to step aside.
