With Trump it’s best to pretty much ignore what he says and pay attention to his actions. IMO He’s shown very clearly that he wants to withdraw from NATO. Whether he’ll get the 2/3 vote he needs to do that remains to be seen, but it’s doubtful. However, he will continue to act like the U.S. is no longer in NATO. Europe cannot and should not trust him.

But we also CANNOT ignore what he says. He is a master of the Narrative.... He is really trying to convince his base that all that he is doing is for the welfare of the US. Total 'you know what'

Maxar Technologies reportedly restricts Ukraine's access to satellite imagery. The alleged move follows the U.S. decision to halt intelligence sharing with Ukraine, a shift confirmed by CIA Director John Ratcliffe on March 5.

Zelensky's approval rating jumps to 68% after Trump clash, poll shows. The most significant jump came after the Feb. 28 Oval Office meeting, which ended in a public dispute with U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said he would travel to Saudi Arabia on March 10 and meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman before talks with U.S. partners.

Ukraine receives $970 million from UK under G7 loan covered by Russian assets."The funds will go towards strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced on March 7.

Germany should reduce reliance on US arms amid geopolitical shifts, Airbus Defense and Space CEO says.

"If we continue to buy off-the-shelf products from the United States with this higher defense spending, we are cementing our dependence on others," said the CEO of Airbus Defense and Space, Michael Schollhorn.

Zelensky to visit South Africa on April 10 for talks with President Ramaphosa. President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit South Africa on April 10 to meet with the country's president, Cyril Ramaphosa, and discuss efforts to end Russia's war against Ukraine, Bloomberg reported on March 7.

Zelensky is being forced to negotiate with the world, given Trump's behaviours influencing Ukraine's entire future.

And people find fault he is travelling? Amazing to me.

Can we really see any American administration people putting their lives in the battlezone and working 24/7 to save their country?

moo, forever.
I think maybe the ones criticizing Zelensky for traveling around the world to meet with leaders of countries to secure aid and assistance in the war are forgetting that our own President may not be able to travel to many countries around the world due to his felon status. This article details the 38 countries that he may have trouble visiting due to being a 34 count felon. Donald Trump faces entry ban in 38 countries as felony convictions could impact ability to travel internationally - The Economic Times

I guess that’s why he spends so much of his time in Florida playing golf. In the first month of his presidency, he golfed 7 out of 29 days (which is 24% of his time)

Turkey, with the second largest army in NATO after the United States, could contribute to a potential peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, a Turkish defence ministry source said on Wednesday.

Turkey ready to send troops to Ukraine if necessary

French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday hit back at Russia, after the Kremlin warned him not to threaten it with nuclear rhetoric and drew comparisons with Napoleon's failed conquest of Russia.
"I know President Putin well. If he's reacting like that, it's because he knows what I said is true"
"He's making a historical error: Napoleon waged conquests. The only imperialistic power I see in Europe right now is Russia"
"He was probably piqued by the fact we're exposing his game"

Macron hits back at Russian fury, says Kremlin feels exposed

Please, please please.... Turkey, come around.

This is also so critical right now... Other leaders speaking the truth about Russia.

Love you Macron.
The only imperialistic power I see in Europe right now is Russia"

Looks like Zelensky been cut off from the negotiation, thankfully. I worry he would pull another stunt like he did in the Oval office and Russia would rain fire and brimstone on Ukraine. Putin is clearly not as understanding as Trump.
Zelensky can't be trusted to security a deal. He can't be trusted to keep negotiations confidential.

The question is .....Why is he even going to Saudi Arabia, if he's not part of the negotiation? What's he going to do run around and try to sabotage the deal? He should be staying in Ukraine and supporting his troops, instead of his "world tour".
Zelensky it's going to do everything he can to sabotage a peace of agreement.

US-Ukraine talks will be held in Saudi Arabia next week, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said, expressing hopes that it will be "a meaningful meeting".

The Ukrainian leader, who will be in the Gulf kingdom but not take part in the talks, said Kyiv was working to reach a "fast and lasting" peace.

US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, said the American team wanted to discuss a "framework" for peace to try to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

Last Friday, Zelensky and Trump were involved in a public clash at the White House - during which Trump said Zelensky was not ready to end the fighting. The US proceeded to pause military aid to Ukraine and stop sharing intelligence.

US Chamber of Commerce in Russia readies proposals on sanctions relief. The recommendations focus on lifting restrictions on the aviation and banking industries, investments, and luxury goods shipments.

Rep. Sen. urges Trump to impose sanctions against Russia if Putin refuses to engage in peace negotiations Graham’s statement came after Putin’s statements that Russia would seek a peace settlement while refusing to give up territorial gains in Ukraine

ISW: Kremlin rejects possibility of compromise and refuses to talk about ceasefire

Putin claimed that Russia would not cede what it considers its “own territory” in future negotiations. At the same time, FM Lavrov ruled out EU peacekeepers in Ukraine, calling their potential presence “direct NATO involvement” in the war.

"Based on the fact that Russia is absolutely 'pounding' Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I am strongly considering large scale Banking Sanctions, Sanctions, and Tariffs on Russia until a Cease Fire and FINAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT ON PEACE IS REACHED. To Russia and Ukraine, get to the table right now, before it is too late. Thank you!!!" - President Donald J. Trump

Fake Russian ‘court’ sentences abducted Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant employee to 15 years on surreal charges

A stark indication of Russian struggles has emerged in recent footage from Russian soldiers filming themselves moving to the frontline on horseback. They are seen carrying their full combat equipment, including armor vests and shoulder-fired anti-tank weapons. Another clip shows other soldiers riding horses through a village, again moving toward the front, however, with fewer weapons than the previous group. This shows that the implementation of new improvised cavalry units applies to all levels of the Russian armed forces, from highly trained personnel to the foot soldiers sent on meat waves.

Other shocking images even show the usage of donkeys and a camel to transport supplies. While these methods may partially help sustain some positions, it highlights the growing desperation, as the use of such improvised cavalry in modern warfare is an unmistakable sign that conventional Russian logistics have entirely broken down.

Russia's estimated losses in Ukraine as of day 1108 of its all-out war, according to the Ukrainian Army's General Staff.

Russia targets energy infrastructure in overnight strikes, minister says

Ukraine says Russia has launched a fresh wave of attacks on several regions overnight.

Energy Minister German Galushchenko says Russian forces targeted Ukraine's energy and gas infrastructure in "massive missile and drone" attack.

Officials say the port city of Odesa in the south and Kharkiv in the east were subjected to waves of attacks that left energy infrastructure damaged and private homes on fire.

Galushchenko warns that power supplies could be affected and urges people to stay in shelters "as long as the danger continues".

An explosion was heard in Kharkiv at around 06:00 local time (04:00 GMT), according to Ukraine’s public broadcaster Suspilne.

'This is the 17th combined attack on Naftogaz infrastructure'

Ukraine's energy company Naftogaz has confirmed an overnight attack on its gas infrastructure – the 17th of its kind, according to the head of the company.

Roman Chumak says there are no reported casualties, but teams are still assessing the damage.

"We are doing and will do everything possible to ensure that the country has gas," Chumak says, praising staff for "their work in extremely difficult conditions".

Europe is ready!

All 27 EU member states have approved the ReArm Europe program, which will allow Europe to spend €800 billion on defense (even Hungary and Slovakia signed on.

This was announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Keith Kellogg used the mule metaphor to convey that the US has suspended aid and intelligence to Ukraine to force Kyiv to comply with Trump's demands, including a quick ceasefire.

Ironically, it's the Russian forces who should be associated with mules, donkeys, and horses because they're dependent on them on the battlefield.

Russian troops use these animals for transporting ammunition and supplies to frontline positions due to severe equipment shortages and the persistent threat of Ukrainian drone strikes, making mechanized transport too risky in certain areas.

What should he do? Stay in his home country and be on the golf course 4 days a week?
He presents in a military uniform, isn't he is the Commander and Chief of armed services in Ukraine? Isn't Russia bombing the heck out of his country as we speak. I would think he would be rallying his troops, providing military guidance and reassuring or relocating citizens in harms way. Does he every visit the injured? Does he visit, have meaningful conversations and support the many soldiers maimed by the war?

Are the golf courses open in Ukraine? Certainly Zelensky spending 4 days on the golf course versus four days jetting all over the world would be much less costly for Ukraine. These "meaningful conversations" are waste of time, money and counterproductive to peace negotiations.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is responsible for the direct military leadership of the Armed Forces, overseeing their operations and the coordination of other defense forces under his command. He also exercises other powers determined by the Decree of the President of Ukraine "The powers of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine"

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is appointed to the post at the request of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine and is dismissed by the President of Ukraine, reports to the President of Ukraine and the Minister of Defense of Ukraine on the achievement of military-strategic goals in the field of defense by military forces and means, as well as maintaining the capabilities of these forces and means before application.

On February 8, 2024, General Oleksandr Stanislavovych Syrskyi was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Decree of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

It is indeed “‘ JUST YOUR OPINION’” & I am pleased that the majority of people on this thread do not agree with you.

I have not posted before as I tend to avoid political matters & out of my depth with ‘political debate’.

I will not enter into ‘clever’ ‘point-scoring’ dialogue here but am compelled to share my own personal experience here in the UK 🇬🇧

1) We were all glued to our TV/Radio’s in February 2022, when Russia attacked Ukraine….in tears, watching the dreadful footage of the devastation wreaked on ordinary people. People just like ourselves.

2) Some in the UK opened up their homes to Ukrainian families evacuated from war zones.

A friend, retired & living alone in a good-sized property, did just this & took in two young ladies, each with a child of 5 or 6. They arrived with a backpack each. They had reluctantly left everything behind ( homes, belongings, elderly parents/grandparents/ extended family/pets) but most importantly their beloved husbands and Daddies to try & keep the children safe.

These beautiful people were traumatised….the children particularly unable to sleep & startled by any loud noise after spending weeks in a basement with bombs falling above.

This is something I have SEEN personally, not just read about.

The mothers spoke little English but were within weeks applying for jobs locally, to support themselves and the children enrolled in the village school.
The community rallied round, as funding from the government was typically rather slow to arrive & they had nothing.

My friend fed them, provided a safe space, helped with the necessary admin by driving them to the necessary offices ( some hundreds of miles away), clothed them from Charity shops, helped them learn English. All from her own pocket. She is by no means wealthy.

She did this out of love & compassion for fellow human beings.

3 years later, this Ukrainian family are still with her. Their menfolk are still fighting to defend their country.

They love their country & intend to return to Ukraine & reunite with their loved ones when it is safe to do so.

3) Another chilling experience….when I parked in a supermarket car park ( here in the quiet rural north of England) & realised the car parked alongside was riddled with bullet holes…..

…….In the back was a BABY SEAT…….On the dashboard a small Ukrainian flag.

4) We were again glued to our TV’s, again in tears on February 28th 2025, watching in disbelief the appalling attack on the Ukrainian President in the Oval Office.

USA is no longer a friend or ally to the UK.

We believe that the recent actions of President Trump have brought us all much closer to World War III.

This is MY OPINION
I'll just add to that - there are many many Uk families still housing Ukrainian families with them. When the war broke out there was a call to see if anyone could take in Ukrainian families, and many many people did. Out of humanity. These are also big sacrifices to personal life, out of humanity and charity.

Poland's Duda wants to lock in defence spending to be at least 4% of GDP

Adam Easton
Warsaw Correspondent

Polish president Andrzej Duda has said he wants to change the constitution to make defence spending of at least 4% of GDP mandatory.

Duda said he had submitted a draft amendment to the constitution to the parliamentary speaker to enforce the change.

Following Russia’s invasion of neighbouring Ukraine, Poland already spends more than 4% of its GDP on defence.

Last year, it spent the equivalent of 4.1% of its GDP on defence and plans to raise that to 4.7% this year.

Poland must be very very worried IMO. They border Ukraine.

Turkey backs plans for air, sea truce

Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Friday threw his support behind a call by French president Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy for an aerial and sea truce in the Russian aggression on Ukraine.

“We support the idea of establishing a ceasefire as soon as possible and stopping attacks in the air and at sea as a confidence-building measure between the parties,” Erdoğan told an online meeting organised by the EU.

Erdoğan, who controls Nato’s second strongest army after the US, offered his comments shortly after Zelenskyy reiterated his call for a limited truce along these lines after overnight attacks from Russia.

France to host meeting of five European defence ministers on Ukraine next week

France’s defence minister is to hold talks next week with counterparts from Britain, Germany, Italy and Poland to discuss support for Ukraine, an adviser to the French government said.

AFP reported that the ministers from Europe’s five main military powers will meet in Paris on Wednesday, a day after France hosts a key meeting of European military chiefs of staff.

“In view of a recent American decision to suspend military aid to Ukraine, the ministers will discuss coordinating action of our countries in support of Kyiv,” the source close to defence minister Sebastien Lecornu, asking not to be named, told AFP.

Zelensky is 100% responsible. Trump offered him the pathway to peace. For at least a month, US officials and European leaders warned Zelensky what would happen. The day of the famous Oval office stunt, Congressional Representatives warned him that morning, not to try to negotiate a peace deal on national TV. He's a hard head, attention seeker, with no decorum.

This is all on Zelensky. He made the choice this that day. If you go back and look at the video, his own staff bowed their heads, close their eyes and pinch their noses, in shame. The staff almost in tears, wanted to sign the economic agreement, trying to salvage the situation. His Parliament voted and approved the deal, his name was not even on the contract to be signed.

I think his Parliaments figured out the real Zelensky. He's not included in the peace negotiation in Saudi Arabia. That's a pretty strong message he doesn't have the support of his governing body any longer.

There will be apeace Ukraine and Zelensky will soon fade into the background.

Does he every visit the injured? Does he visit, have meaningful conversations and support the many soldiers maimed by the war?
A simple internet search reveals dozens of results showing Zelensky doing just that. Of note, he has never called veterans "suckers" or "losers".

Here is just one example of Zelensky rallying his troops.

I agree. We experienced the same thing with our previous administration. It was very hard watching his decline in health. Now we have a strong leader, yeah he's got a fierce bark and bites deep. A manly man, won't see him crying over words from another, but one that stands his ground for his people. He's going to protect our nation. Moo ...
Sorry, but "a manly man"? What is his record with attitudes and actions towards women? To me he is a petulant child full of hate and revenge for all those who helped impeach him. You could say Hitler was strong and protecting his country too ................ What it comes down to is morals and doing the right thing by others. Not just doing what you want for personal glorification. JMO MOO
