The earlier report said explosions

"Russia launches air attacks on Kyiv and Kharkiv
Air raid alarms are sounding and there are explosions in both Kyiv and Kharkiv, the RIA news agency reports."

I think this is retaliation for the massive drone attack in Moscow the night before. Russia attacking Kiev. I hope it's not too massive JMO

Something similar happened just before peace talks were about to happen in 2022 - Bucha. Which is why the talks didn't progress JMO

'If Russia refuses, we should sanction the hell out of them' — Trump, Sen. Graham, hope Putin agrees to ceasefire.

Donald Trump confirmed that U.S. officials would meet with Russian representatives in the coming days to discuss the ceasefire.

Half of Ukrainians say territorial concessions, forfeiting NATO membership in exchange for ending war 'completely unacceptable.'

According to a poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) at the request of the Kyiv Independent, 47.1% of Ukrainians consider it "completely unacceptable" to agree to territorial concessions and give up on NATO membership as a prerequisite to ending the war.

Only 8.2% said they would "easily agree" to this scenario, while 38.1% of respondents called this option difficult but "generally acceptable."

JD Vance's cousin, who fought for Ukraine, says he personally witnessed Russians executing their own troops.

In an interview with CNN, Nate Vance claimed that the Russian army widely practices "barrier troops" tactics.

"I personally witnessed them shooting their own soldiers, and it wasn't just, you know, a one-time incident. It happened quite frequently — so much so that you could consider it a policy for retreating troops," he said.

While the richest man in the world was using OUR White House to improve his exploding car company’s stock and make himself even richer, thousands of Department of Education workers were learning that half of them are about to be out of a job.

Trashing the standards and giving control back to the states..well, look at how not great forever, the red states do with the Dept. of Education. Now, sink the schools, children, teachers, to no recovery. Money will be NOT be spent on any form of education, bare minimum and all will be gotten away with. Live with it maga's. Horrific for the parents, teachers and students who value education and safe school buildings.

That is totally sick. Executing their own soldiers. Putin is an inhuman monster MOO. I just read that full article from your link and now understand why there is the term "meat grinder". Using soldiers to just get blasted as they walk forwards - canon fodder. Human shields. Disgusting.

Maybe people will understand why Ukrainians don't want to be taken over by Russia - this is how they treat their own, never mind Ukrainians. MOO

Most don't know or want to know, it's 'over there...' This has gone on from the beginning, the reports of russian soldiers getting word that no food, no warm clothing, all of it. Lots of these soldiers were taken and forced into 'service' off the streets we saw from reports. 'they ain't like us', Russia.

We could wish .he rarely leaves Russia if he does at all . It's been said for a while the Russians really don't want this war but they are forced to fight .you die either way. Russia could try to force a election in Ukraini but if it was a election with out interference Zelenskyy would still win . But tbh I can't see Russia agreeing for a cease fire. But with the EU Britain the UK Australia Ukraini has a chance. I still hope they don't sign a mineral deal with the USA we can't trust trump he has some motive but I don't think it's peace. Jmvho

Slightly different tone from Trump here IMO

US president Donald Trump said he wanted to “get this show on the road” and end the war in Ukraine after the countries agreed a plan for a 30-day ceasefire.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said: “Ukraine, ceasefire, Ukraine, ceasefire, just agreed to a little while ago.

“Now we have to go to Russia, and hopefully President Putin will agree to that also, and we can get this show on the road.

“We want to get that war over with.”

Seemingly referring to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s turbulent visit to the White House last month, the president said: “I think it’s a big difference between the last visit you saw in the Oval Office, and this.

“That’s a total ceasefire – Ukraine has agreed to it, and hopefully Russia will agree to it.

“We’re going to meet with them later on today and tomorrow, and hopefully we’ll be able to wipe out a deal.”

He added: “If we can get Russia to do it, that’ll be great. If we can’t, we just keep going on and people are going to get killed, lots of people.”
you know the people who precede a diet by eating everything in the house? Russia and Ukraine are drone bombing the s@$# out of each other right before their "cease fire."

MAR 11, 2025
Key Takeaways:
  • The United States and Ukraine agreed on March 11 to an immediate 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine contingent on Russia's agreement, and the US reportedly restarted intelligence sharing and military aid.
  • Ukraine's allies and partners from Europe, Asia, and Oceania continue efforts to strengthen the Ukrainian military and back Ukraine with security guarantees – the most effective deterrent against future Russian aggression against Ukraine following a potential future peace agreement.
  • Russian forces continue to make confirmed advances in Kursk Oblast and have likely begun attacking Sudzha.
  • Ukrainian forces conducted a large-scale series of drone strikes against Russia on the night of March 10 to 11, largely targeting Moscow Oblast.
  • Ukrainian forces recently advanced near Toretsk and Pokrovsk, and Russian forces recently advanced near Siversk and Robotyne and in Kursk Oblast.
  • The Kremlin continues to expand social benefits for Russian soldiers who fought in Ukraine, including soldiers who have fought for the militias of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics (DNR and LNR) since 2014.

Russian ultranationalist voices, including a Russian State Duma deputy, largely rejected the ceasefire proposal on March 11. Russian milbloggers, including Kremlin-coopted milbloggers, rejected the ceasefire proposal because the United States and Ukraine will allegedly "abandon" peace "at the first opportunity" and the war in Ukraine is existential for Russia.[8] One milblogger claimed that accepting the ceasefire would be "pure betrayal and sabotage," and another milblogger questioned the purpose of accepting this ceasefire proposal without achieving Russia's war aims.[9] Russian State Duma Deputy and former 58th Combined Arms Army Commander Lieutenant General Viktor Sobolev stated after the publication of the joint statement that Russia should not agree to the "unacceptable" 30-day ceasefire proposal because it would allow Ukraine to rearm and regroup.[10]

The Kremlin has not officially responded to the ceasefire proposal as of this publication, and Russian state media is attempting to frame earlier official Russian statements about bilateral US-Russian negotiations as responses to the ceasefire proposal. Following the publication of the ceasefire proposal, Russian state media largely amplified a statement from Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Spokesperson Maria Zakharova from earlier in the day on March 11 saying that Russia "does not rule out" contacts with the United States in the next few days.[11] Russian State Duma Security Committee member Mikhail Sheremet stated before the joint statement was released that Russia is interested in a settlement in Ukraine but will not allow itself to be deceived, and Russian state media only amplified Sheremet's statement after the ceasefire proposal.[12] Russian state media is likely attempting to portray the immediate Russian reaction as moderate for domestic audiences until Kremlin officials make public statements and provide a framing for broader Russian media coverage of the proposal.

Can Putin not come out of his hole or something? Is it that he doesn't want to look Zelenskyy in the eye? What's the deal?

From your post above. Perhaps Trump will see now that neither side wants a ceasefire for the same reasons - Ukraine also thinks it will allow Russia to re-arm and regroup. MOO

Love the red color, very fitting of course.
Red sure is fitting. The former Soviet Union was referred to as “the reds.” The shoe fits these Russian sympathizers.

This is the moment for Trump to prove his relationship with Putin

Nomia Iqbal
Reporting from the White House

The ball is in Vladimir Putin’s court as the Americans say but the pressure is on President Trump too. He has often talked up his close ties with the Russian President.

During that fiery clash with President Zelensky there was a line that may have gone unnoticed.

He had said: “Let me tell you Putin went through a hell of a lot with me, he went through a phony witch hunt.”

He was referring to an investigation during his first term where his election campaign was accused of colluding with Russia to win.

The allegations were denied by both sides but Mr Trump’s comments seemed to suggest some sort of solidarity had been forged with Putin.

President Trump today said he hopes Putin agrees to this deal. So this is probably a moment for Mr Trump to prove his relationship with Putin is as close as he says it is.

yes, the close relationship he both has and does not have because while has has never had a relationship with or been controlled or influenced by Russia, he has a special relationship with Russia and only he can influence it. See how they did that? IMO.

Vladimir Solvyov says ""No, there won’t be any ceasefire. Our idea of peace is everything happening as we see fit” And comments how JD Vance doesn't like Ukraine and Trump doesn't say anything bad about Russia, He is scathing at the idea of a ceasefire in the air suggesting Russia has more power and might in the air so why should they have a ceasefire? MOO

The youtube video in the tweet is from Russian Media Monitor - run by an independent reporter. Assume this is ok?

"Russian Media Monitor is a fully independent and self-funded project on media literacy and news reporting. It was created on February 25, 2014, in an effort to combat Russian propaganda. It features reporting and analysis by Julia Davis – Investigative Reporter, Russian Media Analyst and Commentator." (From youtube bio)

That’s true, but I was thinking Trump likely told Elon he wanted a MAGA red car.
Who knows? Maybe it just plays better on TV.
I see some of those silver cyber trucks around here and they always look to me like crushed tin cans.

Clash of the Titans. I guess we will now see who is the real Boss of All Bosses.

It would be phenomenal if Putin would make some face-saving excuse and just withdraw all his troops, but that’s never been his nature.

IMO Trump still yearns to be admired by Putin, and Putin in turn is just stringing along his American marionette.

I hope to be wrong. The Russian mothers are in agony, too, that their sons should die battling Ukrainians. It is only Putin who wanted this war, but Putin=Russia.

Oh, I’m sure Trump meant that the red was for MAGA, but I thought it was also fitting because of the association with Russia that Trump probably isn’t even aware of (being such a non-student of history). :)
