Still watching BBC World News on TV. Interviewing Sviatoslav Yurash a Ukrainian MP. He's says last night he was involved in a "skirmish". There was a "shootout near the Ministry of Defense in Kyiv". Says Russians are sending different groups of people and even a tank once, 2 km from downtown.

So there have been infiltrators inside Kyiv and it sounds like they were targeting governmental buildings.

Sounds more dire than what we've been hearing as far as Kyiv fighting.

It's important, because Turkey is a 60 year NATO partner and has the Russian province of Georgia as a border, Putin marched into Georgia and took it over with military force, just as he is attempting with Ukraine.

Turkey wants no business with anyone interfering with the Bosphorus and Putin is the one guy who would want to do that.
Ahhh I see, thanks for that info.

MOO MOO the nuke alert is a cover for the thermo bombs just moved into place that burn the oxygen out of an entire area.

They have a list of people they want. He's just # 1 on it.

Speaking of, has anyone seen a list of who Putin is after in Ukraine?

JMO

Don't recall where I read it....and maybe it's a hoax....Putin has handed out decks of carts to soldiers with pictures of people they have to catch.

I've been seeing all along there are Russians that have slipped into Kyiv. Not trying to correct you as it appears maybe that's news you haven't seen.

I don't think so. Do you have any examples of where/ when Russian authorities killed the man's family?

I'm not sure Putin wants to kill Zelensky and his family. Capture, possibly.
Zelensky as a martyr would be even more troublesome for Russia.
I could be wrong.

Yes, but no actual children involved. Or wives.
Again, not trying to argue. Don't hate me.

Putin is no shy of murders. There are things that he have done that we will never find out. So far as I read he mostly killed and disappeared his opponents without hurting their children or wives. Except collateral damage as stated before up thread.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he hurt his family .Ukrainian President sees it as a big possibility” number two target. “I have no reason to dismiss it and trust that Putin will not hurt them because he never hurt families of opponents. I hope that they are far away and safe.

I saw the same in relation to Chechen forces.

Oddly enough, that's nothing new.

Ukraine invasion: Russian planes face near-total airspace ban to west
''Russian-owned planes, including private jets, can no longer enter the skies above the Baltic states, Poland, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovenia. Russian planes have also been banned from UK airspace.

Several more EU countries have now joined the action to close airspace to Russian flights:

  • Germany is imposing a three-month ban from 15:00 (14:00 GMT) on Sunday
  • Italy will close its airspace to Russian aircraft, the prime minister's office said
  • Finland, which shares an 800 mile (1,300km) border with Russia, "is preparing to close its airspace to Russian air traffic," Transport Minister Timo Harakka wrote on Twitter
  • Belgium's Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said European skies were "open for those who connect people, not for those who seek to brutally aggress", and France and the Netherlands will also close their airspace from Sunday evening
  • Denmark's foreign minister Jeppe Kofod said on Twitter that his country would close its airspace and push for an EU-wide ban
  • Ireland and Austria have thrown their weight behind an EU-wide ban''

I think Turkey should do the same...the Russians practically "own" all the nice and luxury hotels on the south coast of Turkey.....

Do you mean historically or just Putin's Russia?

I agree with you. Zelensky has smartly (and maybe didn't realize it at the time) set himself up with social media in such an artful way he is a global hero. Putin would be wise to keep the hero alive. JMO

IIRC Those were given to a group of Chechan assassins in the first day of the war who were then set loose to hunt down the people in the deck.

Yes I had heard that but this was the first time I'd heard a first hand account from someone. These men look so so tired. They were also talking earlier to the Mayor of Kharkiv and he looked like he was ready to burst into tears at any second, just wiped out. God bless and keep them strong.

MOO MOO the nuke alert is a cover for the thermo bombs just moved into place that burn the oxygen out of an entire area.

I just read it, it is on the way:

'Thermobaric rockets, also known as "the father of all bombs", detonate all oxygen within a radius of 300 meters when exploded, suffocating all human and animal life. The weapon is therefore especially suitable for use against large troop concentrations with light vehicles or in urban areas'

The EU is closing the airspace for Russian flights and sending weapons to Ukraine, says EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

The decision is historic.

"We are increasing our support for Ukraine. For the first time, the EU will finance and supply weapons and equipment to a country under attack. We are also strengthening our sanctions against the Kremlin, "she wrote on Twitter.

The EU has also decided to ban Russian state media Sputnik and RT. Sanctions are also being imposed on Belarus.”
