I wonder if this was part of the same incident?

"Amnesty International said it had confirmed that a 220mm Uragan rocket dropped cluster munitions on the Sonechko nursery and kindergarten in the town of Okhtyrka in Sumy Oblast, where local people were seeking safety from the fighting.

It said the strike may constitute a war crime."

This is my neighbor's Instagram.
Tanya. They, like us, live in the private sector in the central part of the city (the most geographical center)
Yesterday a shell flew into their house
Not torn
At that time they were all at home (Tanya, Kostya, mother and son Zakhar, five years old)
I do not know what to say

Also this is heartbreaking. You send people into a war and you don't have the decency to inform your people about casualties.

BTW The site is blocked in the Russian Federation on the basis of the decision of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.
The site is blocked in the Russian Federation on the basis of the decision of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.[/QUOTE

The English translation of the description of website reads:

This site was created by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. On it, you will find information about captured and killed Russian soldiers in Ukraine since the beginning of the occupation. Here we will promptly post photos and videos that we receive from the battlefield. If your relatives or friends are in Ukraine and participate in the war against our people – here you can get information about their fate. Unfortunately, it is difficult to identify a lot of those killed. We deliberately post these photos and videos, you may recognize someone by indirect signs.”

“I know that many Russians are worried about how and where their children, sons, husbands are and what is happening to them — so we decided to put this online so that each of you could search for your loved one who Putin sent to fight in Ukraine,” he was quoted as saying in an AFP report.

The initiative also appears to aim at undermining morale and support for the war in Russia, where officials and State media have refrained from disclosing details of Russian casualties and military assaults against Ukrainian cities, including the capital, Kyiv.

In addition to the site, Ukraine has also launched a hotline for families, relatives, and friends of Russian soldiers who have been captured by the Ukrainian troops.

Anton Herashchenko, advisor to the Ukraine minister of internal affairs, pointed out that the hotline will inform Russian families whether their son, brother, father are still alive, taken prisoner, or if they have been injured.

The families will then be able to decide when and how to pick up/transfer the body to their home in the Russian Federation.

I know this site serves two purposes:

1. To assist relatives in Russia to find out details of their sons, husbands, brothers etc who may be injured severely or taken prisoner or killed
2. It assists Ukraine in garnering allies amongst the Russian population to garner support and stand up to Putin and to use them to help stop this humanitarian crisis and war being waged.

How desperately sad that Russia have blocked the site when there are fearful wives, children, parents , family and friends of those soldiers sent into a needless battle and war with Ukraine. They will be desperate for Information and although it is a tool for that information to be available to help them, it’s also yet another positive for the Ukraine who are using the site to show empathy and to get more Russian support to denounce Putins war on Ukraine at the same time. You have to hand it to Ukraines ‘hero’ Presidential leadership.

My hope is that the people around Putin get sick and tiered of him.

For clarification. The "vacuum bomb" is the thermobaric bomb we've discussed.

Just dropping this here, not directed at you.

I think it's 2 separate incidents. From what I'm reading the vacuum bomb was a few hours ago. But info is so fluid that's jmo.

'We Will Not Comply:' RFE/RL Rejects Russian Media Regulator's Demand To Remove Content (rferl.org)
[...]

According to Fly, Russians are turning to RFE/RL's websites and broadcasts "more than ever during this critical moment to hear what Ukrainian officials and civilians are saying and to see images of the death and destruction caused by Vladimir Putin that their government is withholding from them."

He said RFE/RL "will not succumb to this pressure to deprive them of the truth."

Roskomnadzor on February 26 ordered media outlets to delete reports using the words "assault," "invasion," or "declaration of war" to describe Russia's incursion into neighboring Ukraine.

So he’s dropped a thermobaric vacuum bomb?
Yep sure looks that way, CNN did show a few days ago a big transport truck loaded with them on the move inside Ukraine.

Russia-Ukraine war latest news: rouble crashes as markets open; US condemns Putin’s nuclear deterrence order – live updates | World news | The Guardian

The mayor of the Ukrainian city of Vasilkiv says residents are “dreaming of peace”, the Guardian’s Shaun Walker reports.

I’ve been speaking to Natalia Balasynovych, the mayor of Vasilkiv, which came under extremely heavy fire as Russian troops tried to disable the air defence system here and capture the airport over recent days.

Asked what she would like to see at the peace talks between Russia and Ukraine currently taking place, Balasynovych said she believed most people in her town would accept a compromise to stop the war.

We would like to see compromise but not a capitulation. Maybe neutral status for Ukraine, if it will stop them shooting now. Because to live like this is not possible.

If they will offer us only the condition of capitulation then we have to fight to the end. But I would like our children never to wake up with these bombs. Our children will have serious trauma, and people are dreaming of peace already.

People used to think about new car or iPhone, but nobody was thinking about peace. But now, they are really dreaming of peace.

When old people used to wish each other peace, we didnt understand the sense of this word. Now we really understand.

As long as other countries rely on Russia for oil his pockets are full of money.

Jmo

Here in the U.S. we have the resources to be energy independent. We need to move away from importing Russian and Middle Eastern oil, and we will be able to export to other countries as well. JMO.

The US has suspended operations at its embassy in Minsk, Belarus, and non-emergency employees and family members are being authorised to voluntarily depart the US embassy in Moscow.

In a statement on Monday, US secretary of state Antony Blinken said the decision was taken “due to security and safety issues stemming from the unprovoked and unjustified attack by Russian military forces in Ukraine”.

US administration officials have been briefing this morning about the decision to block dollar assets of Russia’s Central Bank and its Direct Investment Fund this morning, before markets opened, the Guardian’s Julian Borger writes.

[...]

The official said about the planning behind these measures, which date back to the much more limited US sanctions imposed after the annexation of Crimea in 2014:

When we took those actions, [the Russians] decided that they were going to try and build a war chest to try and defend against the actions that we may take, if they were to take further actions in Ukraine or elsewhere in the world. We knew that this existed and we knew that ultimately, one of the things that we would need to do to ensure that our sanctions would be effective is at some point to go after that war chest and that’s exactly what we’ve done today.

Russia-Ukraine war latest news: rouble crashes as markets open; US condemns Putin’s nuclear deterrence order – live updates | World news | The Guardian

The website of Russian state news agency Tass was hacked on Monday with the site replaced with messages claiming Russian president Vladimir Putin is forcing them to lie, Reuters reports.

According to Reuters, the message read:

We urge you to stop this madness, do not send your sons and husbands to certain death.

Putin is forcing us to lie and is putting us in danger … It’s not our war, let’s stop him!

The message has since been removed. The website now says: “Sorry, the page you are looking for is currently unavailable. Please try again later.”

There's a guy I follow on FB who fought against IS in Syria - he's European, he's saying he and many soldier buddies are going to Ukraine if the meeting doesn't go well, some are already there.
