Because they want to show the world that they did everything they could…
Yes, that's what he said, but I was referring to the location. I would feel better if they were meeting in a neutral location.

Lithuania’s government has announced it will ask prosecutors at the international criminal court to investigate “war crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine”.

Russia’s foreign minister Sergei Lavrov has cancelled his visit to the United Nations in Geneva due to “anti-Russian sanctions” imposed by EU countries, Russia’s mission in Geneva has said.

Lavrov had been scheduled to address the UN Human Rights Council and the Conference on Disarmament in person on Tuesday.

But he has been forced to cancel his trip “due to an unprecedented ban on his flight in the airspace of a number of EU countries that have imposed anti-Russian sanctions,” the mission tweeted.

RIA news agency quoted a diplomatic source as saying the decision was because Lavrov’s plane would not be able to pass through airspace that the EU has closed to Russian airlines as part of sanctions against Moscow.

Google, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter must do more to tackle disinformation related to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the heads of government in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have said.

In a joint letter to the chief executives of the four companies, the four prime ministers said criticised the tech giants for not doing enough to “address the Russian government’s unprecedented assault on truth”.

The letter reads:

Russia’s disinformation has been tolerated on online platforms for years; they are now an accessory to the criminal war of aggression the Russian government is conducting against Ukraine and the free world.

They urged the companies to suspend the official accounts of Russian and Belarusian government institutions, state-controlled media and personal accounts of the countries’ leadership that consistently disseminate disinformation about the situation in Ukraine.

There's a guy I follow on FB who fought against IS in Syria - he's European, he's saying he and many soldier buddies are going to Ukraine if the meeting doesn't go well, some are already there.

I can imagine many European nationals want to volunteer and fight in Ukraine.
Ukraine grabbed our hearts and appeals of Ukrainian President have been heartbreaking many will stand up and fight.

CNN TV showing daytime video from Kharkiv which shows the SMERCH thermobaric bombs going off. Ret. Lt. General Mark Hertling former commander for Europe, the 7th Army identified it for CNN.

All happening as the talks are ongoing.

Russia isn't going go leave Ukraine anytime soon, IMO, and they're not sitting down with the Ukraines for talks of peace and ceasefire in good faith.

The Christian Democrats' foreign policy spokesman Lars Adaktusson nominates Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj for the Nobel Peace Prize.

"Through dignified, dedicated and responsible political leadership, Volodymyr Zelensky has become a role model far beyond his own country's borders," he wrote in a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee.

According to Adaktusson, based on universal principles of national sovereignty, territorial integrity and the right to self-defense, Zelensky represents the whole of democratic Europe.

"As a responsible leader in a just military defense of his own country, Volodymyr Zelensky actively contributes to international peace and security," Adaktusson wrote in the letter.”
