It seemed odd to me that India abstained from the UN's vote to tell Russia to stop and leave Ukraine. All the Indian online news sires I'm seeing are all pro-Ukraine.

India has to walk a very fine line between Russia, China, and the US.

It's all over being supplied with weapons

Again contradicting news about the Peace talks....

Me, being from Europe, have my own thoughts about the American elections...totally different perspective. Not very much apart from what you writing...but a different feel.

This is what living in countries with freedom of speech and democracies ( of various types) is all about - being able to talk to each other like this and express our experiences and opinions:)

I saw this on one of my whale watching pages on fb. We were worried about the deep diving cetaceans (aswell as anything to do with Russian military in the water which is a given).
Most mass strandings are linked to naval sonar,it is troubling ...I agree!

Following Turkish and Russian wars, much of Moldova was transferred to Russian control and called Bessarabia in 1812. In 1917, Bessarabia proclaimed the independent Democratic Republic of Moldova and united with Romania in 1918. In 1924, the USSR established the Moldovan Autonomous Oblast on the east of the Dniester River in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. Shortly afterwards, the oblast’s status was altered into the Moldovan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (MASSR). At the beginning of World War II, the Soviet forces occupied Bessarabia and rejoined it to the MASSR, thereby forming the Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic. During World War II Moldova returned to Romania, but was handed over to the USSR in 1947. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, Moldova finally became independent on 27 August 1991.

I thought I would post youtube videos of people trying to flee Kyiv.

India has been heavily supplied with weaponry from Russia for their constant battle with Pakistan over Kashmir.

They walk a careful line between Russia and the US, far more tenuous than we appreciate.
I get that BUT unprovoked invasion and war crimes against children...take a stand India...AJMO

There's a really big NATO plane over southern Poland. I've never seen that, I didn't know NATO had it's own planes.

Several big US and Polish copters in the area and a big Italian AF "heavy-lift" plane nearing the Polish- Ukranian border.

So interesting to see the good cooperative works by multiple nations in action.

I’ve just read about a Ukrainian family who live near me, they’ve been here years and he works for a law firm in my city. They’d been on a routine trip to visit family in Kiev in the school holidays and were due back on 25th, but while his wife and children have made it home after a tortuous and scary journey, he was not allowed to leave and has had to sign up to fight.

No military experience, never even held a gun… how is this right? I really hope he gets to come home.

I wish I didn't have a real job and could have flightradar24 on a big screen TV. I haven't moved to following airport ATC talk with headphones, yet.

Perhaps I have a latent craving to be an air traffic controller :p

It’s really addictive I check it all the time now and get stuck on it for hours. I didn’t know it exists ( yeah I know I know I’m probably the only one) its so cool to see military planes go around patrolling borders. I was snooping on Swedish island Gotland for a while but nothing much going on there.

USAF has a lot of harware in Romania right now

And there are so many weird little airlines. And the airspace restrictions are making some very funky routing necessary.

I really love all the monitoring drones being used ( for our side, of course)

I think I’ve just been reading about him. Did they go on a skiing trip? It doesn’t seem right. It said under Marshall law he wasn’t allowed to leave.

Yes ! So many small airlines I had no idea about and I fly around Europe a lot. I was surprised by how many I don’t know.
Its fascinating to look at all the nato moves for sure. Ps not much over Finland and Sweden that I can see of military planes all seems to be commercial.

In a small press conference with a group of reporters in Kyiv, President Zelenskyy said he “needs” to speak to Putin, saying there is of room for compromise and discussion, but NOT about Ukraine’s survival as an independent nation.

(AP) -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet him .. "Sit down with me to negotiate, just not at 30 meters," he said Thursday, apparently referring to recent photos of Putin sitting at one end of an extremely long table …

“I don’t bite. What are you afraid of?” Zelenskyy said at a Thursday news conference.

Zelenskyy said it was sensible to have talks: “Any words are more important than shots.”

Thank you Elley Mae, that is some history, isn't it? Now I understand why being neutral is in their constitution.

Poor little Moldova, being tossed around like a Russian football.

Now I REALLY want to visit there.

I'm also surprised by all the little rinky-dink airlines flying in Russia.

Given their dismal record of flight safety, I don't think I'd want to try any of them

Uh-oh, a Luftansa flight from Frankfurt to Tokyo may enter Russian air space for a bit as it flies over the Altai, before it flies over Mongolia. Right now it's over Kazastan. I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
