There’s 4.546 litres in a gallon so approx 4.5 x £1.60 litre in U.K. = £7.20/$9.53

The regional difference is interesting. It's coming in at around £6.70 here in the South West (I'm just outside of Bristol)

I have been wondering about Moldova. Carefully treading on their "neutral" position. Which really means, toady for Russia, INMO.

I think their neutral position is real, and comes from a long time of having been roughed up over and over again by Russia.

It's in their constitution, and has served them well since their independence in 1991.

The reliable news sources are reporting they have now changed their minds about the EU and probably the most important reason US Secretary of State Blinken was in Europe was not to appear to support Ukraine by visiting Poland to meet with the Ukraniane officials, but to visit Moldova to talk to their President who wants strong US support.

Today's threat by Putin to bomb Odessa is also likely partly due to the US Secretary of States appearance in Moldova, reminding them that Odessa is only about 115 miles from the border and can easily reach them if Odessa is taken

Edited: Need to find MSM documentation, thanks

Hopefully a step in the right direction for Belarus:

The deputy minister of defence for Belarus has reportedly submitted his resignation and claimed he cannot support the current Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Major General Viktor Gulevich argued that Belarusian military unit personnel refused to take part in hostilities and that the Armed Forces of Belarus could not complete a single battalion group.

I'm sort of worried about France's Macron.

He seems to be a bit outside of the group and it seems like Putin is targeting him for some reason. Maybe he thinks he is weak, or politically ambitious, or could possiby unintentionally divulge information. Putin made every attempt to show the world what he thought of Macron with the "big table photo.

Putin is very well trained in psychological profiling. He knows how to pick the weakest links.

The mortar shells fell first 100 or so yards from the bridge, then shifted in a series of thunderous blasts into a section of street where people were fleeing.

As the mortars got closer to the stream of civilians, people ran, pulling children, trying to find a safe spot. But there was nothing to hide behind. A shell landed in the street, sending up a cloud of concrete dust and leaving one family — a mother, a father, a teenage son and a daughter who appeared about 8 years old — sprawled on the ground.

Soldiers rushed to help, but the woman and children were dead. The father still had a pulse but was unconscious and severely wounded.

Their luggage, a blue roller suitcase and some backpacks, was scattered about, along with a green carrying case for a small dog that was barking...

The shelling suggested either targeting of the evacuation routes from Irpin, something of which the Ukrainian authorities have accused the Russian army after a railroad track used for evacuations was hit on Saturday, or disregard for the risk of civilian casualties.

There's an article on the DM website about civilians who were killed fleeing Irpin. I think that same family is pictured. It's so sad.

I think their neutral position is real, and comes from a long time of having been roughed up over and over again by Russia.

Today's threats from Russia to destroy Odessa are likely a reaction to the SOS vistit to Moldova, trying to emphasize the threat, as Odessa is only 115 miles from the border.

It's in their constitution, and has served them well since their independence in 1991.

The reliable news sources are reporting they have now changed their minds about the EU and NATO and probably the most important reason US Secretary of State Blinken was in Europe was not to appear to support Ukraine by visiting Poland to meet with the Ukraniane officials, but to visit Moldova to talk to their President who wants the US to sponsor their NATO application, and get the process started, poste haste.

Getting Moldova under the cover of NATO would be a huge benefit to Moldova, of course, but would also benefit the Allies tremendously in being able to provide support and surveillance of what Russia is doing in Ukraine, and a buffer for Romania.

Today's threat by Putin to bomb Odessa is also likely partly due to the US Secretary of States appearance in Moldova, reminding them that Odessa is only about 115 miles from the border and can easily reach them if Odessa is taken

I haven't seen the MSM reports that Moldova has changed its mind about wanting to join NATO, if you have a link, I'd be interested in reading about it.

Regarding Odessa, I'm of the opinion Russia has probably had amphibious landing ships floating around near there for days. JMO

Not sure what I think about the possibility of the U.S. sponsoring Moldova's NATO application. If Moldova decides that they want to join NATO, I think that should be a decision of all NATO members. If sponsorship is required, then this should also be a joint sponsorship, IMO. I don't think the U.S. should act alone on this.

Although it [Moldova] has no plans to try to become a member of NATO, Moldova formally applied to join the European Union just three days ago in a fast-track bid to bolster its ties with the West.

Russia preparing to shell its own cities to accuse Ukraine and declare general mobilization

Russian authorities may decide to implement a scenario, in which they will shell residential areas in the Russian cities located near the border with Ukraine to accuse the Ukrainian military.
The relevant statement was made by the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“According to the Kremlin leadership’s plan, this will be used as a basis for declaring general mobilization in Russia. Considering the actions of the Russian army in Ukraine, provocations in Russian cities will be accompanied by numerous casualties among civilians to create a ‘nice’ picture,” the report states.

Similar scenarios were used by Russia as a pretext for hostilities in Afghanistan, Chechnya and Abkhazia.

A reminder that the Kremlin is planning to involve the forcibly mobilized residents of the certain areas of Donetsk Region and Luhansk Region (CADLR) in provocations in southern Ukraine.

I'm actually not sure this are the same persons. On this picture it looks like there is also a child on the ground, but it could already have taken away before the other picture was made. Sorry....tears are coming seeing this. Stupid note...also the cat carrier standing there. Looking back I think this is a picture of the same family from a different angle. RIP

It would seem his ''ladies'' and offspring are weak points for P. could that not be exploited somehow?

Fantasy- place huge silkscreen images of P and his dearly beloved, hang them from buildings and nuclear reactors- so that when his goons open fire, they will essentially be shooting up those people.
Teeny visual taste of his own medicine. speculation, imo fwiw.
