@EmmanuelMacron

Officiel du gouvernement - France

I spoke with President Putin and then with President Zelensky. We are striving to preserve the integrity of Ukraine's civilian nuclear plants, in addition to other priority demands we presented to Russia: a ceasefire and the protection of civilians.

Poland’s ambassador to the United States told Fox News he believes Russia has military ambitions beyond Ukraine and called for economic sanctions to potentially last for decades against the Putin regime.

"I believe Ukraine is not the last item on Mr. Putin's menu," said Ambassador Marek Magierowski, who spoke with Fox News from the Polish Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Polish ambassador warns Putin has sights set beyond Ukraine, calls for decades long Russian sanctions

I’m just a no-body but I haven’t had a good feeling about this for months. I also do not see P stopping at Ukraine. He’s on a war path for what ever reason and threats of nukes have outsiders quaking
Agree absolutely @Elley Mae. Putin plans to expand his empire across Europe. He believes it is his legacy...imo.

I've read the explanations about Starbucks and McDonalds and I still think they need none of my money for being so mealymouthed about it. Like the musical director who quit his posts at the Bolshoi and in Toulous.

Pepsi Co is another bag of worms and I feel no loyalty to that brand and ALL it's subsidaries. I might miss the Sabra hummus, but not anything else.
There are product recalls on that brand of hummus all the time though! Boycott salmonella and listeria. You'd think all that garlic would kill anything, possibly save the hummus for Russian vampires?

more on Bennett/Putin/Macron/Scholz/Zelensky calls/visits:

Israeli leader holds multiple calls on Ukraine cease-fire with Zelensky and Putin

Bennett visited Moscow on Saturday and met Putin in the Kremlin. He was the only Western leader to do so since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Before departing Moscow on Saturday, Bennett called Zelensky and briefed him on the meeting.

Bennett traveled from Moscow to Berlin and met with Scholz to update him on the meeting with Putin. On his way to the airport in Berlin before flying back to Israel, Bennett spoke to Macron and had another call with Zelensky.

On Sunday morning, Bennett spoke again to Zelensky. This was their third call in less than 15 hours. On Sunday afternoon, he spoke again with Putin. After the call with Putin, Bennett again called Macron and Scholz.

Cool heads must prevail

Easy for me to say from the US isn't it?

Unbelieveable

I hesitate to say it, but I don't think the US will necessarily be the safe place you seem to think it will if the worst case scenarios play out in this.

⚡️Zelensky: "Russia announced that tomorrow it will be bombing our defense industry enterprises. Most of them are located in our cities, with civilians around.

It’s a murder, simply a murder. And I didn’t see any world leader react to it today, any Western politician." https://twitter.com/KyivIndependent/status/1500581654401888256?s=20&t=ui03sgc-dCTax08KcL50fw

Zelensky: "Think about the feeling of impunity that the occupiers have that they announce their atrocities in advance! All because there is no reaction. Not a word. It’s like all Western leaders are gone today. I hope you will at least notice it tomorrow, and react to it." https://twitter.com/KyivIndependent/status/1500582036108713985?s=20&t=V0sAAx6sM0zXb_KO-9_11Q

Oh my God some of those are what I saw earlier today but not that man...who was trying to give some kids a taste of chocolate, a smile, God bless him...only to witness a mother survive and her three kids being killed by shrapnel. Heartbreaking stories

Does anyone know if Russia were to cut itself off from the global internet would citizens still be able to get news via VPN?

Russia disconnected itself from the rest of the internet, a test of its new defense from cyber warfare, report says

While a VPN, as well as encrypting traffic, can hide the country of origin, my understanding of the technology is that it would still require an internet connection to the world outside of Russia. If they have managed to physically isolate the entire country on all the cable, mobile and satellite networks, I don't see how they could. JMO.

Short wave radio might be another possible channel for news.

Senior US officials traveled to Venezuela on Saturday to meet with President Nicolas Maduro’s government, seeking to determine whether Caracas is prepared to back away from its close ties to Russia amid its invasion of Ukraine, according to a person familiar with the matter, Reuters reports.

The trip is the highest-level US visit to Venezuela in years after the two countries broke diplomatic relations amid a campaign of US sanctions and diplomatic pressure aimed at ousting Maduro, a longtime ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Venezuela holds the world's largest oil reserves. The US is already on shaky ground with Venezuela. Time to patch that relationship up.

Venezuela has the world’s largest oil reserves and its output is currently growing despite US sanctions imposed at the height of the 2019 attempt to topple Maduro.

A year ago, my sister bought a very fancy candle on Etsy from a seller in Ukraine. Gave her a five-star review as it was lovely and well-packaged.

Today my sister went to find her on Etsy so she can "buy" things in order to give her some income, of course without really buying anything.
Sadly, the woman's Etsy shop is now closed.

The woman in Ukraine posted some kind of note that the post office and shipping companies are not functioning, so she had no choice but to shutter her shop. However, the woman said that she is "selling" items for five dollars. That's what my sister did, and I'm going to do, with several shops in Ukraine.

I don't even know if there's anything left for them to buy.
