I am not sure, what’s going on..
Watching MT right now:
USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) Current Position ( - DUAL TRACKING - ) | Marine Vessel Traffic

“Harry S. Truman (also known as HST within the Navy[citation needed]) is 1,092 feet (333 m) long, 257 feet (78 m) wide and is as high as a twenty-four-story building, at 244 feet (74 m). The supercarrier can accommodate approximately 90 aircraft and has a flight deck 4.5 acres (1.8 ha) in size, using four elevators that are 3,880 sq ft (360 m2) each to move planes between the flight deck and the hangar bay. With a combat load, HST displaces almost 97,000 tons and can accommodate 6,250 crewmembers.

The warship uses two Mark II stockless anchors that came from USS Forrestal[12] and weigh 30 tons each, with each link of the anchor chain weighing 360 pounds (160 kg). She is currently equipped with three 20 mm Phalanx CIWS mounts and two Sea Sparrow SAM launchers.”

Thank you, Vern. Europe would be very appreciative of some nice Canadian oil! Not sure you have enough left over to supply the whole continent though; it is a major problem unless the gas guzzling nations like USA and China are prepared to reduce consumption and share a bit.

This is from the link I posted in my last post, you can see it’s not straightforward for Europe at all:

View attachment 335882

In a nutshell:

USA produces 19 million barrels a day but uses 20 million. No biggie, they can probably break even.

China makes 5mb but uses 14 so is in huge deficit.

(USA and China use a third of the worlds oil between them)

Canada makes 5m and only uses 2.5m.

Russia and Saudi combined make 21 million barrels but use less than 7 million. They have by far the most spare.

And therein lies the problem.

Cagney, can you provide the main link or source to this data...
I really want to read more and see more of the information that provides this chart........

thanks...

Here's something interesting up today over southeastern Romanian coastline:

A NATO superdrone based in Italy

Nato AGS RQ-4D Phoenix UAV, Italy

There are also Romanian Air Academy flights up and Czech Air Force Helicopters out.

Hungary will allow NATO troops to deploy in western Hungary and weapons shipments to cross its territory to other NATO member states, according to a government decree published on Monday (7 March).

In February, NATO looked at deploying four new battle groups in southeastern Europe. Some 1,000 troops would each be sent to Bulgaria and Romania, and potentially Slovakia and Hungary, to respond to Russia’s military build-up in Ukraine, diplomats said.

Guess, the Nato has been scouting first,it seems that Russia navy ships are going to face trouble in EU:

Cyprus forbids mooring of five Russian navy ships this week due to Ukraine war

VERY IMPORTANT, I think.

Nice place to hide an aircraft carrier along the Dalmation Coast ! ( I LOVE Croatia!)

That's a good place to keep your vessel far away from the risk of trouble in Black Sea or the Sea of Marmara. I had also read of some Russian agitator issues in the Balkans, likely Kosovo.

SAM missiles ! That's like a being a western gunfighter showing a huge sidearm in a showdown.

ETA: The mysterious aircraft TXPKNVLE is NOT at the same place. It's ~ 100 km farther down the coast.

APOLOGIZE. The USS Harry Truman is outside of Split, Croatia while TXPKNVLE is north of Dubrovnik.

The UK RAF is using their base in south Cyprus for vigorous scrutiny and monitoring of the southern Romanian - coastline area. They certainly are not going to put up with Russian Navy ships there, or in the nearby Mediterranean.

I had read about Russian "cargo ships" being denied mooring several days ago.

I really didn't think the Russian Navy had progressed south from the Black Sea into the Mediterranean. I don't like thinking about that.

Great article from Feb 24 ( before the first Ukranian attack on Feb 27) about the Russian presence in the Mediterranean. Darn.

Poland to allow US to use its MIG-29 jets
Poland's foreign ministry has confirmed it is prepared to deploy its MIG-29 jets to the Rammstein Air Base in southwestern Germany.

Here, they will be "placed at the disposal of the government of the United States of America".

A statement adds: "At the same time, Poland requests the United States to provide us with used aircraft with corresponding operational capabilities.

"Poland is ready to immediately establish the conditions of purchase of the planes.

"The Polish Government also requests other NATO Allies – owners of MIG-29 jets – to act in the same vein."

Ukraine-Russia live updates: Girl, 6, 'killed during ceasefire' in Mariupol as report claims peace negotiations 'much more serious' than West says

My understanding is that Poland will give these MIGs to the US's Ramstein base in Germany. There they will probably be checked over, and stripped of any proprietary NATO equipment. From there, perhaps they might be exchanged for some Sunflower oil, from another European country whose air force is trained to fly them, and needs a few more fighter jets ;);).

This way, Poland is "recycling" it's old, Soviet MIGs for newer jets, and not dealing directly with Ukraine. All JMO.

And the article goes on to say -

Sky News defence analyst, Professor Michael Clarke, said the MIGs are planes the "Ukrainians can use", and better than other aircraft they would have to familiarise themselves with.

<snipped>

Asked why they were going via the US, he said: "Giving (them) to the Americans to give to the Ukrainians is to say to Russia: 'if you want an argument about this, have it with Washington, don’t have it with us.'"

So who is going to deal directly with Ukraine?

So who is going to deal directly with Ukraine?

On paper the US may transfer or sale them to a private company who then sells them to Ukraine. (Speculation only)

SORRY , I made a mistake. The USS Harry Truman and the odd plane signal are about 100 km apart.

Appreciate the eye on the sky you have been providing.
