I also heard on BBC World News TV that all men between ages of 18 and 60 were banned at the border by Ukraine authority to protect the country. Will look for a link.

Look at the line up leaving cities, at gas stations and borders.

NATO leaves Black Sea exposed as Russia invades Ukraine | Reuters
As NATO scrambles to respond to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a major exposed flank is the Black Sea. Despite a stated resolve to deter Russia, the alliance has failed to prevent it from building a presence in the area.

A key reason: divisions among members over whether to challenge Russia’s navy in the area, resulting in a lack of a coherent and meaningful Black Sea NATO strategy, according to Reuters interviews with diplomats, intelligence officials and security sources from NATO members as well as military strategists, retired military commanders and shipping industry officials.

Large Explosions Heard in Kyiv, Capital City of Ukraine (businessinsider.com)
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday said he was the number one target but said, "I stay in the capital, I stay with my people."

"They want to destroy Ukraine politically by destroying the Head of State," Zelensky added."We also have information that enemy sabotage groups have entered Kyiv. That's why I am asking Kyivites very much: be careful, follow the rules of curfew."

On Thursday, some Ukrainians took to the subways — which act as bomb shelters — for safety from attacks.

This is a nightmare, just horrific. People living in fear, fleeing from their homes and livelihoods or massed together in subways with their children and pets.
For what? A megalomaniac's desires.

Haven't we learned something from 2 years of Covid? That we as human beings are all in this together, wanting survival, safety and peace?

It's so upsetting and senseless.

Ukrainian forces shoot down Russian aircraft over Kyiv - The Jerusalem Post (jpost.com)
Ukrainian forces downed an enemy aircraft over Kyiv in the early hours of Friday, which then crashed into a residential building and set it on fire, said Anton Herashchenko, an adviser to the interior minister.

It was unclear whether the aircraft was manned. Herashchenko wrote on Telegram that a nine-story residential building was on fire.

Three people were injured in the aftermath, one of which is in critical condition, Kyiv's Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.

Although the invasion may scare him and his neighbors, McKracken said he has no plans on leaving. Yet, he is still preparing in case the situation takes a turn and becomes worse.

"One of the things I did today was pack my 'worry bag,'" he said. "Documents and a change of clothes. And I hope I don't have to use it."

Is this the country where they elected a man who played president on comedy TV to be president? If so, he should be stoic while figuring out how to get out of it without further loss of life.
By all accounts, Zelensky has displayed a tremendous amount of courage and bravery throughout this entire crisis. The faith and support he’s shown to his country and its people, in addition to his unwillingness to abandon them, is nothing short of admirable.

The Ukraine might become occupied like WW2 Netherlands. The Dutch could live freely during occupation as long as they gave everything they owned to the Germans, spoke German, and did as the Germans said. During the French Revolution, the Dutch were also occupied. At that time, they had to speak French (1810-1813).

If Ukraine is annexed and occupied, and men aged 18 - 60 are banned from leaving the country, what becomes of the people of Ukraine after invasion from Russia becomes an Iron Curtain?

Just wish our country could do more or what they want to do but this taking over the nuclear plant puts a damper on a lot of strategies. jmo But there will be a way! I've got faith in it.
