Thanks all of you for doing such an excellent job with coverage.

Sad day. While Putin is evil, he’s far from unintelligent. He has planned for this and for the expected sanctions (I would think)? So what is he planning ultimately? I just don’t believe he would show his hand and not be fully prepared to take on those outside of Ukraine. I’m not much of a political person but from what I do know, Putin scares me as I don’t underestimate his capacity to use nuclear weapons or any means that will ensure he achieves his objectives.
Well said.

This is beyond horrifying I don’t have words to express how awful this is.:(
I read somewhere it's estimated 800 Russian soldiers killed...I'm trying to confirm that so unconfirmed right now.

Edit below

"Estimated losses of the enemy as of 03:00 25.02.2022: Aircraft 7 units. Helicopters 6 units. Tanks - more than 30 units. BBM - 130 units. The loss of enemy personnel is approximately (to be specified) 800 people," according to Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Malyar."

Real heroes.....but this hurts so much. All 13 soldiers serving on the Ukrainian island of Zmiinyi (also known as “Snake Island), in the Black Sea have been killed by Russian troops. They actually said go **** yourself (and this is on tape), we will not surrender.

So many lives lost because of this madman and is just going to continue. I’m glad that Ukraine is fighting back.

137 Ukrainians deceased in the last approx 36 hours. Civilians and military. :(

Zelenskiy Says More Than 130 Dead In Russian Invasion And That Ukraine Has Been 'Left Alone' To Fight.

From the above link:

“They’re killing people and turning peaceful cities into military targets. It’s foul and will never be forgiven,” Zelenskiy said.

The president said all border guards on Zmiinyi (Snake) Island in the Odesa region were killed. All of them will be posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine, he said.

Ukraine’s border guard service earlier in the day reported that the island was taken by Russian forces.

Zelenskiy said despite the losses the armed forces of Ukraine were “brilliantly defending the country against one of the most powerful nations in the world.””

German army 'standing bare,' limited in combat readiness, top chief says

Inspector of the Army Lt. Gen. Alfons Mais described the army as "standing bare" and said it would be limited in its capabilities should it be asked to assist in a NATO mission in a post he shared on his LinkedIn profile, Stripes.com reported.

….

Not surprised.

I feel so frustrated and sad that the NAVO has is hands bound, now all of this is unrolling before the eyes of the world. I wish we all could do more, besides the sanctions, that don't work IMO, but that would cause WWIII. Or flashing the colors of Ukraine....(edit: just heard somebody from there on the radio that this is really helpful and comforting....keep on doing it) A horrifying idea. There will not be a military interference. Ukraine has asked...please help us from the air....but what if......I can understand Ukraine is feeling alone and let down. Even a decision about delivering defensive weapons (as far as a weapon can be defensive) to Ukraine will come to late, I'm afraid. It's so complicated....What if today an annexation will happen? We have to deal with a lunatic, who is willing to go to war and kill people for sick sentiments.

Хай живе Україна Long live the Ukraine (from somebody interviewed on the radio)

So why are they even in NATO? Maybe its lost in translation but what does "standing bare" even mean? They have no soldiers but have weapons? Or they have no weapons but have soldiers? Or no soldiers, no weapons just useless military hierarchy in uniforms?

But we can't use them. Then we would do the same as Russia. Ignore all pacts and agreements. And we will be in a war.....all of us in danger.
Bottom line though has got to be...men like Putin are evil and need to be stopped. Any pacts and agreements made with a madman should now be regarded as void. They obviously were never honored nor mattered to Putin.

If we learned nothing from war it's madmen cannot be appeased, they always want more.
