Today is day 3 of that nightmare.
I feel like many of you ..helpless. I haven’t had a good night of sleep since Thursday constantly thinking about poor people of Ukraine. Watching President of Ukraine makes me want to cry I can’t see his face without sobbing. I wish I could do something. I wish someone send them weapons to protect themselves.
As a European I’m so angry more then anything. Putin has been a bully for such long time and now it seems as he completely lost it, not that he ever had it very together in a first place but now seems different somehow . I’m worried about our future in the EU who is going to be next? Is he going to grab countries one by one? At least the ones not part of NATO and Union.
As of now I signed up to organisations helping refugees. I will volunteer when it’s needed. The least I can do for now.

The US starting sending military aid earlier this year, anticipating conflict. Biden committed an additional 600 million in Friday.

France seizes Russian cargo ship in Channel

The French navy has intercepted a cargo ship in the English channel bound for the Russian city of St Petersburg, the BBC has learned.

French officials told the BBC that the ship was intercepted in line with new EU sanctions and say it has been redirected to the northern port of Boulogne-Sur-Mer.

“A 127 meters long Russia cargo ship called the 'Baltic Leader' transporting cars has been intercepted overnight by the French Navy in the Channel and escorted to the Port of Boulogne-Sur-Mer in Northern France," the official said.

"It has been taken to the French port after a request by the French government because it is suspected of belonging to a company targeted by EU sanctions against Moscow. French boarder forces are currently investigating the cargo ship. Crew aboard the 'Baltic Leader' has been cooperating with French authorities.”

The Russian embassy in France is seeking explanations from the French authorities over the seizure, Russia's RIA news agency said.

NATO should be sending these reinforcements to the Ukraine if they really want to stop all this somehow. This is just my opinion, but I feel like the longer that other world leaders and ours here in the U.S. let those poor people in the Ukraine fight alone it just reinforces Putin's beliefs that Russia is stronger than everyone and deserves to run the show. They can sanction him until the cows come home but he will respect that even less than doing nothing. You only face down a show of power with another equal show of power. Everytime the Ukrainian president goes live online I am just sobbing because nobody is sending real help to him and his people. It's just so wrong!

It feels wrong and I understand. I have the same kind of emotions, but with military help from NATO within the Ukraine there will be a WWIII, with most likely repercussions from Russia, probably in the form of nuclear weapons on Europe and also the US will get involved. I think there is no soul here who wants that. It's a very dangerous situation, but also a very complicated situation, because Ukraine isn't a NATO member, scared off by Putin in the first place, like he does to Sweden and Finland as off today. If it was we would be already in a war all together. So countries have to "work around that" and provide help in other ways, how painful it may feel. Were we all sleeping? Did we miss signs...remember Putin has lost his mind. Nobody thought he would really do this. Will the help be enough....on time? I don't know. I'm hoping wholeheartedly Ukraine will stand.

Some NATO countries are sending more aid, military supplies including, US I believe just approved to send another 300+ million in military and humanitarian aid
While that's great news and a bit of progress I just wish we were all sending support in the form of boots on the ground troops. The Russian army is huge and Ukraine is outnumbered which is problematic.

Full scale world war is definitely a possibility in that scenario but I feel like it's just as likely to happen once Putin controls the Ukraine. He's making emotional decisions instead of logic based and once he has a minute I think he's going to continue threatening other nations he feels are undermining and victimizing him. It's like watching a man going through a midlife crisis with nukes and troops to silence his detractors.

First publicly acknowledged military aid arrives in Ukraine since invasion

From CNN's Paul P. Murphy and Josh Pennington

Poland has shipped a convoy with ammunition to Ukraine, according to the country's Minister of Defense Mariusz Błaszczak, making it the first publicly acknowledged shipment of military aid to Ukraine since the Russian invasion began.

“A convoy of ammunition we are donating to Ukraine has already reached our neighbors. We stand by the Ukrainians, and show solidarity against Russian aggression,"

I’m proud of the Polish people/government. They are stepping up for Ukraine .

MOO....I'm betting "some" of the aid arrived on the C130s from the US. The 82nd AB is stationed at the Polish border. Current "working border traffic control"...yea right. MOO...82nd came with plenty of fire power, and lots of advanced weaponry/defense equipment.

The US has been stocking piling for months in the areas, training Ukraine troops and surveillance.

That's awesome! My ex brother in law is 82nd Airborne and he's a tough guy. I feel a little bit better now, thank you for that!

I'm afraid Putin has to be "neutralized" at a certain moment in time, to stop him. But who are his buddies?

Yes, no one single country can go in and help, not with those threats made by P.
I think that is also why the president of Ukraine asked for experienced soldiers from anywhere (I can't remember his exact wording) to come help.
Not countries, just soldiers.

82nd is special to me. We vacation on the NC/SC/VA coast. We see FT Brag, Cherry Point, Oceania and other East coast military in restaurants, beach's, shopping, etc. Most are in awe and so proud of our military, we go out of our way to thank them, pay for meals, etc. We are so lucky to have 82nd, Seal Teams, and others protecting the east coast.
Moo...

The 82nd are the bad boys and roll quickly...

The mission of the 82nd Airborne Division is to, within 18 hours of notification, strategically deploy, conduct forcible entry parachute assault and secure key objectives for follow-on military operations in support of U.S. national interests.

I see your point, but how would this work? Should soldiers be shipped secretly to Ukraine, dress up in Ukrainian military clothing and fight with them? Foreign Legion? It has happened before. Just thinking out loud......Sarcastic....but in some sense not....ISIS had fixed this...recruiting people from all over the world to fight with them....and they came willingly. Everybody is free on a personal level to go to the Ukraine and fight with them. Could that work? Are there people willing....again thinking out loud....

China and India abstain from voting on the UN Resolution condemning Russia for invading Ukraine. China I get but India!?

I was thinking Foreign Legion too. I think they are anonymous so we wouldn't know if they were there or not.
And the rest of the people wanting to go fight with Ukraine are probably keeping quiet about it also. jmo.
