The medical team continued with the two-hour long open-heart surgery even after a fire broke out on the hospital roof, and firemen evacuated other patients. An emergency electricity cable, and fans to keep smoke away, made it possible. The patient survived, and was evacuated later. The hospital is the only one with a specialist cardiological unit in the region.
