Can someone explain how this would work? How would the damage differ from that inflicted by other types of bombs? TY

Bomb looks to be on a timer. It's so tiny because on the plane you don't have to cause an enormous amount of damage, it's enough to blow a hole in the wall.

Catching up on the thread.

Question: Is the above "exclusive" pic of the actual bomb? If so, why does the bomb itself not look damaged?

Because the photo was taken before the bomb blew up.

Interesting that ISIS claimed responsibility for this bombing and they are not known for taking credit unless an attack was in fact orchestrated by them. They didn't claim responsibility for the San Bernardino mass murders when they could have done so; they just stated to the effect that the perps were supporters of their cause.

IMO, if ISIS says they did it ... they did it !

I would like to think they are being honest and truthful but they have more to gain from determining this incident was not terrorism than confirming that it is. The tourism industry has been badly damaged by what has happened in Egypt this year and they will want to regain some revenue.

Exactly. Egypt clearly doesn't want this to be caused by terrorism.
