I'd suggest there's some kind of existing agreement in place - so no gore shown on tv or in news if sighted from the chopper, back off if told, etc.

From watching the media helicopter in the Audrii Cunningham case when the police clearly found something the helicopter quickly moved away so I’m guessing they have an agreement in place.

Quite a few on this thread are still going with the possible traffic collision line which whilst is 100% possible I just don’t feel that’s what happened here - I think if it was once he knew the ‘game was up’ he’d have spoken and ultimately disclosed where the body was hoping for a lesser charge.

I agree with you that if the accused's vehicle had hit Samantha, he would have spoken out fairly soon - his lawyer would have convinced him that he had some "wriggle room".

Looking on Google maps, I'm surprised there are a few properties within this area. I wonder if any CCTV from properties or vehicles here have potentially assisted in pinpointing this area. MOO.

They would have to liase with police, police would have their guys up there as well, plus drones could be used

Not to mention other news helicopters as well

This is a very good point. Some of the alleged perp.'s friends may have provided such info. to police. I suspect every individual associated with the alleged perp. has been taken in and has been told to provide a statement. When you have similarities popping up in multiple statements you have a chain. And the police will push every point. And this is where they have got their intelligence from? I suspect that that stuff they were mucking around with is a major part of the current investigation. Doesn't everyone here believe that it is all interrelated? And another question here is if SM was too diligent in correcting the wrongs around her?

I think the area that's being circled by the helicopter is private land too. It's about a kilometre away from Buninyong Bushland Reserve.
