"Fresh search for the remains of Samantha Murphy today came up empty,
two months after the Victorian mum was allegedly murdered.

The police search was situated in an untapped stretch of bushland in the Enfield State Park,
20 to 30 minutes away from Murphy's home.

Fresh intelligence from various sources led authorities to the search,

although A Current Affair understands
the man accused of murder,
Patrick Stephenson, 22,
is not being cooperative with police.

so if the other areas searched earlier didnt have cadaver dogs in the search team, samanthas body may have been missed!!
But they did have technology detection dogs didn’t they? Perhaps those searches were more focused on finding tech that could provide more clues and lead to her body…? Maybe they did find some additional clues during those previous searches.

Fingers crossed, today's the day Sam is found.

I found some pics in this article in The Age from March 21, showing the same dog handler and what looks to be the same cadaver dog as in the news in yesterdays search…..

This pooch seems to do serious overtime travelling between 2 States.

But he seems to enjoy himself, bless him.

Another day.
Another chance.
"Hope dies last".

Checking in & catching up on Samantha's thread after a couple weeks... so disappointed to read she hasn't been found yet. :( Keeping my fingers crossed it won't be too much longer and thinking of her poor family.

Update: Police will be searching an undisclosed location in the Ballarat area today as part of their ongoing investigation into Samantha Murphy’s alleged murder. The search will involve a “range of specialist resources” from across Victoria Police.

Search crews on Thursday focused on an area in Enfield State Park, about 30 kilometres from Ballarat.

A "targeted" search was being conducted in the Ballarat area on Friday, but police would not reveal where the focus of today's search was.

Police used cadaver dogs from NSW Police for the first time during the investigation into Ms Murphy's disappearance.

The missing persons squad, search and rescue squad and local police were also involved in Thursday's search efforts.

Police said the search area in Enfield State Park was highlighted by "intelligence derived from a number of sources".

Maybe yesterday's photos were actually from 20 March search. I didn't hear that media were allowed yesterday. And interesting that today's search is in a secret location.

Yes I agree it’s interesting that they haven’t disclosed the location.
Perhaps they want to limit media turning up, or choppers getting footage of anything (especially if they do find SM, they will want to notify the family first). IMO

Another thought is: what if they suspect someone else was involved in her concealment. Could they have released the previous search locations and then sat back to wait to see if anyone else turns up afterwards. Maybe by not disclosing the location, they can see if someone with specific intel (ie. involved in concealment) turns up afterwards… I don’t know, just thinking outloud… and all IMO

In the media yesterday it was stated that it was the first time that cadaver dogs were being used in the search for Samantha. However the article I posted earlier from The Age shows the cadaver dog searching for Samantha on 20th March. Hard to know what is correct.
IMO

The cadaver dogs two of them in yesterday's search and today are specially trained to find deceased people

The other Labradors brought in earlier, were tech detection dogs, who are specialised in sniffing out memory storage, USBs, hard drives, mobile phones, storage device cards and sim cards etc...

All a bit top secret. Maybe on 20 th March they weren't cadaver dogs. Maybe only tech finding dogs. I have seen cadaver dogs, but they weren't labradors. A breed I can't recall now. But that was awhile ago in the NT.

They are just beautiful: happy to get their photo taken, ready for their next assignment, to make their handlers proud.
Probably whispering to each other, "Hope I'm chosen, as It's my turn.
Listen Molly, stop smiling, as you went out last time."
