I think saying minimum wages or below minimum wages would have gotten his point across. But, of course, everyone knows he has already been paid in full.....or has he? Why do I think someone is waiting in the wings to do a book deal with him and everything he does and says is to make himself appear more colorful. Your client's life is going down the toilet and you are acting inappropriately, making jokes, missing court deadlines and to the general public he looks too darn happy. It's as if he knows there's a pot at the end of the rainbow no matter what happens in court. jmo

The one that infuriated me was the comments he made ON CAMERA to Kathi Belich in June 09, referenced here (wish I could find video):

When Belich joined a group of reporters, Baez told her, "You're screwing up everybody's sound bites."

Later, he asked Belich if her name is really Gallagher.

She said she didn't understand his question. Later, she asked: "Has your private investigator been looking into me instead of Casey's case? Why are you asking me the question?"

Baez shot back: "Another reporter told me. You're not well thought of among your colleagues."

All the stuff we talk about, and the MSM decides to try and ruin the rep of the SA? Is Hal not following this case at all? One of the most memorable exchanges? What case is he watching? I think I'm going to stop reading his blog from now on if he's going to be so one sided for the defense. There have been way more exchanges where the defense was snide, rude, you name it, and he picks this ONE to act like the SA is losing their cool. Has he not seen, this whole time, exactly WHO the SA has had to put UP with for almost THREE YEARS now? I am really getting tired of MSM suddenly going pro defense! The ever growing list of snarky comments by JB points to just one thing.....just one!

JB is so desperate to remain (or shall I say appear) relevant) that he is willing to "market himself" in the manner he does just to get a soundbite or another mention in the media.

He's even slipped at times and complained about his soundbite getting messed up. He just can't play it cool.

It's really rather sad and pathetic.....and so very very very transparent. Talented attorney's can garner attention with a well placed answer and nothing more than a nod. JB's literally jumping in front of cameras just for an opportunity to "quip a flub".

His actions remind me of those people that stand BEHIND reporters in a shot just to see themselves on camera. You know the ones....the people on their cell phones telling friends "Hey watch me on TV. Can you see me?", the ones we always laugh AT for being so pathetic for embarrassing themselves.

If JB thinks that his antics will gain him major business after the case he should consider 2 things........

* What type of client will he attract with this behavior? The only ones that will take him seriously after the KC case will be the bottom of the barrel, shady, low level criminals. Even the drug dealers and white collar criminals will know to steer clear of the S.S. Baez and take their chances with public defenders. (many of those IMO have JB beat hands down)

* Will he still be able to pull the same stunts and routine in every case and still cry "oops my bad" like a little girl??? The JAC and local Judges will be onto him before the first pre-trial hearing.

Why, may I ask does the media keep rewarding Jose? Oh wait......look who he's courting....and who is doing the reporting.........There is a DIRECT correlation between the reporters "reporting on JB's own leaked info".....and the others that just plain "investigate and report"

Nuff said.

The fact that JA has little tolerance for JB's lack of legal knowledge is old news. The fact that Hal thinks this is news-worthy speaks volumes. Is this the best he can do and who really cares? Sometimes reporters write about nothing to make it something but it's still ends up being nothing. This appears to be the case here. jmo

Guess it's all perspective, but I thought it made Jose look like an a$$. Ya didn't see JA having to make a formal apology to Jose and the Court to wiggle out of being sanctioned.

Love this thread! But I would dispute the inclusion of "sarcasm" in its title. Sarcasm requires a certain degree of wit, which Baez does not possess even in the half. The snark he has by the bucketload.
